United have got the so called new JAAP STAM (from belgium) on loan, 24 year old center back from ANTWERP who UNITED have a transfer and loan agreement with .... HARALD PINEXTEN

maybe after all the hype anbout NESTA, HOFLAND, AYALA, WEIR, THURAM, etc etc we might have found a perfect CB to come in the summerin our backyard.
he and JAAP certainly have a similar ..... style ie convict cut and fecking shit scary expression.

whats with this guy then ???? surely if he was the next jaap there would be more talk about him and he would already be at a big club as he is 24!

i'd love it if he really could live up to his name, a world class CB for a little price (i imagine).

i don't know where he was for the whole year of his 24 birthday  but i would imagine he was plaing football in the dutch league which was a leading european league at the time with either Willem ll or PSV .... yet this guy is playing for a crap team in and even worse league so i get the impression he hasn't made much progress in his carrear or much of an impact. Thus iam asking why has he been taken on loan ?? and what is the situation ??

Jaap Stam was not an international at 24

it's only a internal deal between the 2 clubs.

Antwerp says:"take this boy to your first class training camp for a few weeks Fergie! Give him a little experience, let him play with the likes of Djordij and O'Shea in the reserves!

Fergie says:"yeah ok, as long as u keep giving my on loan boys a few first team games!"

:p

I'm more concerned with finding the new Hyppia. Stam was not a leader and thats what we need. Stam was just a brick and Brown can play that role for us for many years to come as well as O'Shea.

We need a leader who is great in the air, organises and also brings the ball out well. As well as being solid. Hope Fergie gets his man, we've missed out on too many 'gems' lately i.e. Hyppia + Joe Cole many more young players.

O'Shea shout a lot. He's capable of becomming a good leader on the pitch. Needs to get a bit of playing time to develop though.

Agree about needing a leader, Brown will never be a leader, a good partner yes, skillful, etc. O'Shea- looks a little more outgoing than Wes, but too early to say really. This is getting old admittedly; but Mexes has it all(another season in France and he would be ready).
