Transferring Music Library

I just received a new Laptop. Was wondering if there is a way to transfer my iTunes music library from my Desktop PC to the Laptop?

If you can get an external hard drive, transfer from your PC to the Hard drive, then the hard drive into the laptop.

If you have an iPod, search for a program that lets you rip songs from your iPod into your laptop.

Are they not saved on the hard drive?

Seems pretty self explanatory to me, although I don't have itunes.

Download a program called iPod copy(I hear there are plenty of sites like www.warez-bb.org that allow you to search for full versions of that sort of software-not that I'd endorse that sort of thing), and then copy everything from your iPod to your new hard drive.
