I think we have made a massive mistake in the transfer market this time around, even more so with the new transfer window.

We have bought a goalkeeper i dont think we need, unless Barthez is leaving (fingers crossed) Carroll is doing just fine and now he will get bumped back to Third choice!

We needed a defender desperately, i know Rennes and Boca wanted exhorbitant amounts but there are plenty of fish in the sea, maybe we could have taken a defender on loan, same goes for the goalkeeper.

The one thing United really needed was a striker, all it takes is RVN or Solskjaer to go down and we are stuffed. Forlan can be good player one day but we need someone for the moment, they didnt even have to be expensive, Jari Litmanen had the ability to be the new Cantona and was available for free! someone like Di Canio wouldnt have been expensive either!

overall i dont think this squad can win anything, i hope to be proved wrong but its a far cry from the team of 99. We need another world class defender and striker, goalkeeper to replace Barthez would be nice as well!

The only thing we did wrong is not getting an attacker. Signing a goalie is right as Barthez is too injury-proned and error-proned, while Carroll, at least at this time, is just a below-average PL class goalkeeper. There are at least 15 goalie better than him in the Preimer League.

Caroll is just way over-hyped in this forum. His inexperience and indecisiveness was clearly shown in his performances against Chelsea and Sunderland.

A top class keeper would have saved our necks then.

We are desparately short of defenders and a striker and Fergie opt to buy a golie as a cover for Barthez... well, we are definately not going to win anything wif this team.

we should have bought Robbie Keane. He cost Spurs the same as Forlan but is clearly a much better player. Never thought I'd say it, but the squad is really thin for world class club like Man Utd. From the days when we had 4 class strikers, we are now down to only RVN and Ole, and both looked jaded yesterday. We have spent 80 mil on 3 players, RVN, Veron and Rio, but I think veron does not really improve the team at all. Too many one touch passes that count for nothing in the end. If there are takers, we should sell him and use the cash to streghten the squad.
