We are scrambling around trying to sign anyone before the deadline.

Have a few players who could make last minute moves like Holgate and DCL and I think other incomings rest on those for us.

Who do we think is going to panic and spunk a load on tat? (Aside from us).

I’ve been out of the loop a bit this week with work. Is the Sancho deal the only remote chance of an outgoing today? Or is there any noise around moves for Lindelof or Eriksen?

I’m assuming Ugarte and Koné will be the end of the incomings.

There is no noise on either player so it would be a surprise

Still hold out hope for Rabiot after window closes

I think that fee is higher than all the fees the other clubs have spent in the league combined (this season).
Yeah by the looks of it there's been about £20m spent and £14.5m of that is by Birmingham even before this deal!

What happens with free transfers? There is a deadline to get them too isn't there?
"Free agents can sign for a team at any time, as they are not contracted to another club."

But he would have to be registered obviously, so the team he signs for would need to have space for him.

I think Chiesa would have been good for us.
Not expensive and has a high work rate and can score some nice freekicks.

Did not know today was deadline day.

Doubt Utd bring anyone else in.

The rest can go to feck.

Transfer deadline day ain’t the same without Harry Redknapp, Peter Osaze Odemwingie and a bunch of deformed Stoke fans waving their hands behind Sky reporters.

We’ve peaked a long time ago, only downhill since.

He's never scored a free kick in his life
I’m dead.

Deadline day is usually way overhyped and a damp squib, but this surely has to be the most boring/depressing deadline day ever.

Osimhen and Toney in a race to feck football off and get to Saudi. Chelsea fighting to get rid of Sterling who no one else really wants. United fighting to get rid of Sancho who no one else really wants.

It's a lot of clubs trying to shift players nobody really wants.

I always find it a little absurd than delicate transactions involving tens of millions of whatever currency would be left off to the last possible second. But we know it is, in fact, something that happens in football.

West Ham just pulled off a loan deal + buy option for Carlos Soler from PSG while only covering a part of his salary. Why were we not in for him? I know he hasn't played much for PSG, but it is hard to get into that midfield and he was excellent for Valencia which is what led PSG to buy him in the first place.

We are so light in midfield, and if Mainoo gets injured, we're screwed. It would have been a good decision to bring in Soler to rotate with Mainoo or come in as a sub. He is quite versatile too, having played CM, CAM and RW for Valencia. We really should be taking more advantage of loan deals, especially since we're not able to spend as much as we want.

Despite what people say about his character I still would have tried to sign Rabiot on a free

Good to see us not scrambling for last-minute panic signings for once. Really shows how much better we're run now than before.

Yes, I know Ugarte technically isn't over the line just yet, but the club's clearly been working on that one for weeks.

Thought Toney would go for more than £40m

I'd love it if an option came up for a decent left back on loan. Other than that I doubt much will happen.

Sancho going would be great.

Kinda hoping for a wide player if Sancho leaves. Think we're leaving ourselves a bit light in that department. The LB situation isn't good but I think we made up our mind in that regard.

Can't see anyone beside Sterling being available.

Hoping for something juicy before deadline. Has to be, come on!

Looking further ahead, and depending on form, I think we'll address the forward situation in January.
Gut feeling, we'll make a strong move for Nico Williams .

Dan Ashworth comments seems to suggest we’re still cooking something.

Hope we add to our attacking line. Need some more goals / assists in the squad.

I hope we don’t keep signing players for the left wing position.
