No-one else watch the highlights show tonight? It's repeated again at 9am tomorrow (well, today) if there's any interest, would be great if someone could record it.
Few details I picked up:
Game 1 vs Odense (0-1)
Team seemed to be: Devlin, Brown, Thorpe, Fornasier, Fryers, Stewart, Norwood, Wootton (c), Dudgeon, Ajose, Cofie, but would like to check that again. Pogba and Cole among the used subs.
They took the lead with a decent strike from distance from a kid called Larsen, who was booked for his celebration and later got sent off for a second yellow. Cofie hit the bar with a deflected shot and missed horribly at the death from a neat Pogba assist, Cole forced a really good save too. Were the better team and had several chances but couldn't get the goal.
Game 2 vs Modena (4-0 - Norwood 2 (1 pen), Pogba, Lingard)
Team: Devlin, Brown, Thorpe, Wootton, Dudgeon, Stewart, Pogba, Norwood, Hussain, Keane, Cofie. Lingard and Cole among the subs used.
1-0 Norwood, penalty struck into the top left corner after Pogba was tripped (bit of a dubious one).
2-0 Norwood, typical effort from distance, keeper went for the spectacular save and only succeeded in parrying it straight up in the air, ending up with it looping into the net.
3-0 Pogba, Norwood's corner was flicked on at the near post and Pogba at the far post struck a low drive through mass of players and past the unsighted keeper
4-0 Lingard, Keane dug out a cross from the right to the back post, headed back across goal by Pogba and Lingard poaches it on the line (was going in but Pogba didn't seem to mind)
Game 3 vs Castelfranco (5-0 - Keane 2, Stewart, Norwood, Cole)
Team: Johnstone, Brown, Wootton, Thorpe, Dudgeon, Stewart, Pogba, Norwood, Hussain, Keane, Cofie. Lingard, Cole, Devlin among the subs.
1-0 Keane, clever ball round the corner from Cofie, Keane lashes it high past the keeper and into the far corner from a tight angle
2-0 Stewart, sharp turn on the edge of the box and fires home from 20 yards
3-0 Keane, brilliant move, Hussain with a clever backheel to to Cofie, clever ball through and a typically cool finish
4-0 Norwood, freekick won by Pogba 20 yards out just right of centre, struck low into the far corner, hard to tell if it went through the wall or around.
5-0 Cole, scuffs a low shot after a corner, bounces back to him, drilled into the far corner.
Devlin came on for Norwood as an outfield sub wearing 19, had one chance late on when he was put clean through and promptly ended up falling over like Bambi on ice.
Semi vs Sassuolo (2-1 - Keane, Hussain)
Team: Devlin, Brown, Thorpe, Wootton, Dudgeon, Stewart, Pogba, Norwood, Hussain, Keane, Cofie. Lingard a sub.
1-0 Keane, lofted pass from Dudgeon, beats offside trap, brilliantly taken down, cool finish.
2-0 Hussain, backpass leaves Keane clean through, tries to go round the keeper who gets a touch but Keane regains possession, plays it back to Hussain, who scores with a clever dinked lob over the retreating defenders.
A Sassuolo player was sent off for complaining about not getting a freekick in buildup to Hussain's goal, he thought Wootton had committed a foul but there was nothing in it. Their manager was sent to the stands as well, looked a bad-tempered one.
They pulled a goal pulled back late on after some sloppy defending.
Final vs Bologna (1-0 - Cole)
Devlin, Brown, Wootton, Thorpe, Dudgeon, Stewart, Pogba, Norwood, Hussain, Keane, Cofie. Cole a sub.
Seemed a pretty uneventful game, the only goal coming when Pogba harried a defender and forced him into a mistake, got to the byline and crossed to the far post where the unmarked Cole (not Cofie as reported) had a free header. Couple of hairy moments at the back but nothing too alarming.
------------
Wootton was the captain in every game.
Essentially an unchanged lineup for the last four games with just the one change in goal for the Castelfranco game. Lineup in the first game was a bit different.
Everyone saw action at some point, the subs I've listed above aren't comprehensive, just who I noticed on the field. Might notice a few more if I watch again.
Hope that's of interest to someone, and if anyone can get the programme up on youtube or capped and uploaded elsewhere that'd be great.
