Meanwhile, the coach of United's victors last week, Bayer Leverkusen, said he wants to take over from Sir Alex Ferguson.

"My contract has only one year to run at Leverkusen and we have not spoken about another one yet," he said. "It would be my dream to coach Manchester United. If the call came I would go immediately."

I personally don't think he's proved himself totally yet, but if carries on the way he has been going he could be a brilliant manager for us. It would also be great having a chain smoker on the bench an'all...

;)

Has no-one told him the job isn't available any more?

Without a shadow of a doubt.

Relieves stress and tension.

;)

That's what I thought, but if continues to be as successful as he has this year until Fergie leaves, he could be the right one.

Plays the game the way it should be played.

As a smoker, it relieves stress and tension for me.

What do you think of Toppmoller managing United?

The stress and tension you describe is brought on by the fact that your body is craving a fag. Vicious circle mate. Anyway, you won't believe me cos you enjoy smoking.

Toppmuller for United? No fecking way. No Germans in charge of my team and that goes for Hitzfeld too.

Isn't Hitzfield Austrian?

To be honest I'd be alot happier with a foreign coach than a British one. Fergie is the last of the great British managers IMO.

And if it came down to choosing the nationality of the foreigner, well, French or German etc. I wouldn't really care.

He could be thinking of some other famous Austrians too, although I'm not sure why.

I used to smoke two to three packs of camel's a day

Funnily enough, I experience less stress since I've given up smoking

Do you find that you're calmer now and use terms such as "feckin dippers" less?

You remind me of someone...

;)

I only use it when dippers are around ie like yourself

Does this have anything to do with calmness?

Hitzfeld´s German. Bernd Krauss has an Austrian passport.

What do you think?

Actually Floyd, I think you're taking the piss coming on this forum and claiming that Ottmar Hitzfeld and Paul Gascoigne are Austrians. Defies belief really. Are you German by any chance, or just stupid?
