It's gonna get even higher as he has a new huge Gatorade deal, note that Nike and Gatorade were Jordan's top sponsors when he was the richest athlete in the world.

Did you see what A-Rod's base salary payment will be over his career when he retires $445 million for his career, easily the highest of any sport and player ever that doesnt even count his endorsements, that said he will go down as one of the best players ever and pass Bonds(removing a black eye from baseball steroids era), that said he needs to win a few WS to be regarded as a true Yankee great
 
I just don't see the commercial allure of a golfer. It's fecking golf. There's very little entertainment value watching golf. Scratch that. There's absolutely ZERO entertainment value in golf.

You are right, except for the fact that Tiger Woods is golf, he is bigger than the sport, the PGA has become huge since his arrival, and he is clearly the most important athlete to his sport in sports, just look at the recent tv numbers sans Tiger.

This fecking shot was worth a 100 million to Nike alone

Sponsors mainly I'm guessing? 'Cos no one really watches it.
 
Why is Woods getting so much from Sponsorship?

I don't get it. There is no way he is more popular than someone like Beckham or as popular as someone like Jordan was.

Because he gets sponsors completely unrelated to sport. Things like watches and American Express, you know, everything that appeals to a pimp. (Another reason every golfer dresses like a pimp).

And of course when Nike charges thousands of dollars for a "little fecked up stick" (quote Robin Williams), he'll get a whole lot more than a pair of shoes that Becks or MJ promotes.

Because he actually seems/is a good person, and well as I said earlier the man is golf, the sport needs him; The explosion of golf in the US is down to one man Tiger Woods. Tiger is a symbol excellence as well, and companies want that, so why not use Tiger to increase their reputation or at least show that they are at the pinnacle of what they do like Tiger is, Rolex does it with Federer as well.
 
It`s fecking sickening how far up that list Beckhamm and Mickelson are.
