Top 50: Most valuable players

Hazard above Neymar  What makes him 40m more valuable

De Bruyne below Coutinho....there's too much stupid stuff to point out but that list is a joke

Joke list

Ronaldo got 61 goals last season, Hazard 19 (and was pretty unconvincing in the CL)

Hazard could be more valuable than Messi.

If he wants to.

6. Sterling
15. Harry Kane
21. Mario Gotze

If all three became available tomorrow who would attract the most interest in Europe?

Oh and Modric not even top 50. Less valuable than Willian and Welbeck.

Well, Willian is also more worth than Thomas Müller despite being one year older and having one year less on his contract.

The study has been carried out by a team of statisticians at the Football Observatory, a research group in the International Centre for Sports Studies which was founded in 1995 as a joint-venture between FIFA and the University of Neuchâtel in Switzerland. The Football Observatory itself was established in 2005 and has undertaken research for both FIFA and UEFA.
I've no idea what those guys do, but I really hope they don't get paid for it. It doesn't make the slightest bit of sense.

Morate better than Mueller and Lewandowski. He scored 8 goals in Serie A. Klose and Luca Toni scored far more.

Hilarious list.

Busquets, Koke, Kroos, Müller, Lewandowski, Verratti and Neuer rated around 30 million while Coutinho and Kane are rated around 40 million. Must be former Lehman Brothers employees who found new jobs as "statisticians".

And contract situation, I believe.
Herrera isn't even on the list despite being a lot better than Henderson. Henderson has like 1 year on his contract I think while Herrera probably 4 or something

Also Oscar seems ridiculously high up at £38m.

Definitely no PL bias. Looking forward to seeing this in every PL vs BL/LL debate to come.

Henderson is English though.

Sterling worth more than Verratti + De Bruyne tells you everything you need to know about this list.

Welbeck is in that list at #47. What exactly does he bring to a team, goals? assists?

2. Eden Hazard (Chelsea) £109m

3. Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid) £92m

The reason they gave is because Hazard is younger and because he has a longer contract. Makes sense, but that also makes the list a bit pointless from the fans' prospective, as they usually just want to know who is better, not who has the longest contract.

Jordan Henderson and Welbeck worth more than Vidal (and Marchisio) who isn't even on the list? :wenger:

Who would pay close to 60m for Sterling?

"37. Alexandre Lacazette (Lyon) £28.6m"

SIGN HIM UP!

So you're to tell me Welbeck is worth more than Herrera, Mata, Depay, Shaw and Smalling? That's excluding players from other teams.

Shambolic list.

Even leaving aside players like Modric and Ramos who at least are 29 and don't have a ton of resell value....

Reus (26), Alaba (22) and Varane (22) aren't on this list! Neither is Jordi Alba (26) or Fekir (21), the young player of the year in Ligue 1.

Alaba has 3 years left on his deal and Varane has 5! They're both worth at least 2 Jordan Hendersons.

Diego Costa´s rating as one of the 10 most valuable footballerrs is truly bizarre. They value him at 72M and Alaba at 29M. Would any sane person take him over Alaba? 90 goals in 220 games. Over the same timeframe Lewandowski has scored 123 in 220 games.

27 in 35 for atletico in 2013-14
20 in 26 for Chelsea in 2014-15 (despite injuries)

Whatever be your opinion, at least share stats that tell the actual story.

According to this fantastic piece of journalism, we can sell Rooney and replace him with Muller and make a profit!

Get your finger out woodward.

it says a lot about how bad the top of the list is that nobody has ever bothered to go down far enough to notice Welbeck is in there at £26m.
