Tony Book dead at 90. RIP

Those of a certain age will remember Tony Book when he captained City to the 1968 1st Division title. He was a good defender in his day. He lived a good long life. RIP Tony Book. One of the dwindling band of players who made the 1960s a good time to watch football in Manchester.

Yes remember him well. Full back for city and captain if I'm not mistaken. Part of their team of the late 60's early 70's which included their "holy trinity" of Bell, Lee and Summerbee. They had a bit of swagger back then. Those derby games at Maine Rd were a nightmare though. Seem to remember they always used to beat us and It was a dump of a place to go.
RIP Tony Book who was a likeable bloke!

I remember him managing City, seem to think he did pretty well too and then they brought Malcolm Allison back in to replace him for some reason. I don't think he played professional football until he was about 30 either.
