tommy doc on talksport now

Tommy doc is a bitter old man who'll grab any opportunity to have a dig at United. I won't be surprised if he says Keane should be fined, sold, hung, drawn and quartered!

slagging keane and Fergie actually.

Docherty is a bitter bitter man.

Rent a gob at it's worst.

If keane gets any further bans from the FA for his book admissions even in the context of admitting they are things he is trying to deal with, then the FA must surely examine all books by players to look for intentional bad tackles, drug abuse, alcohol abuse etc and start fining these people. Tony Adams has admitted playing drunk FFS.

Paul Merson has admitted similar. How is this any less disrepute than Keano's comments??

The difference is that we are able to contextualise Adams and Merson et al as they went on to 'deal' with their problems.

Still, you give the ABU's an inch.......

Exactly if the FA take action it will set a very dangerous precident...

If the FA take action it will send a message out that you can't take the law into your own hands in an attempt to gain revenge..

Dangerous

Do they not have the double jeopardy rule in football? He's been banned once for the incident already.

Only in the USA and because we or rather Keane are not in the USA,no he can`t.

End of story.

Have you Read the Book Davey?
There is nothing that they can do. The book is a definite Success and the Tabloids and Times are milking it.

Is that so?

I'm not sure they'll agree with you on that

but you have not answered the question.
Have you read the Book?

Tell me if i am wrong, Keane was Punished for his actions(Suspended). Now how can he be punished again????.

If you are charged with assault and jailed for 1 month, after you are released you come out and say you hit the person with INTENT to hurt them can you be jailed again ??? This clearly isn't what happened but in principle the same LAW applies. The reason The FA suspend players who commit similar Fouls is because there intention was not to get the ball rather they got the player. Even a Fool can understand this

No I haven't read the book, but I have read the quote..

New evidence has emerged, and this isn't a court of law...

He can be banned for bringing the game into disrepute..

But the only thing they will stop is people publishing it years later. This will not put a stop to grudges, retribution and bad tackles.

It will send out the right message...

I can't believe anyone else would be so stupid as to admit to such a thing

But the malicious tackles will still be there, which ultimately is what it all boils down to. The action, not the talking about the action.

Anyway I have heard loads of footballers describing how they used to go out and purposly "kick lumps" out of other players. Jack Charlton, John Giles, Billy Bremner, Bestie went into great detail in 'Blessed', Ferguson describes in his book players who he had issues with.

This is not unprecedented. I cannot believe the big deal that is being made about it.

yeah right, how can you be charged with bringing the game into disrepute by speaking the truth about something you have already been punished for, even you are intelligent enough to understand that.

He also admits to having a go at shearer, Now that he openly admits it, do u think he is bring the game into disrepute. Any fool would know that Keano went in hard on haaland and he had a go at shearer. With both instances he was already punished ?

Viv Anderson was charged for admitting he's commit a professional foul on a player clean through on goal...

Do you think that Keane's admission is more or less serious than that?

Was he Suspended and then 2 years later charged ?
Was he suspended and charged ???
:)

watever. i'd think tat it's juz keano and thus ur reaction, davo...

football has always been a wonderful sport, both to be watched and to played in... let it remains that way... and not turn it into some farcial "courtroom scenes".

Anyway if FA were to charge keano, the next time a knee pops out, they have to call in the Scotland Yard to see if there's any malicious attempt. Perhaps, the victim could even sue under tort of negligence, breach of duty of care watever... :D
