I think I'd say Collateral was his best performance. A Few Good Men and Interview With the Vampire he was very good in too. Early Cruise was the best though, Top Gun and Days of Thunder, yeeeeh!

MI 1, Top Gun, The Last Samurai, The Firm, A Few Good Men, Born on the Fourth of July, Eyes Wide Shut, and Risky Business were all quite, despite being a complete crazy mofo Scientologist he has had some class roles in his career

Last Samurai is a very good film. One of the few Cruise films I enjoy watching, that and Vanilla Sky.
