Hey Mods,

I know this was suggested a while back but could we have a mini sub forum for the Tom Clare posts, as he posts some great reads, and it would be nice for newer members to be able to have easy access to these, as well as for us members who are younger and like to read about the history.

He hasn't posted for a while has he?

There are some more great reads by him here, http://www.joinmust.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=50

Cheers

Manx.

No doubt the Mods will have a think about it manxmanc....Tom hasn't posted for a month though he was here on the 17th.

even posters like Fred and Spoony who have been United fans for many many years I love reading there posts on what it used to be like etc.

nah I am not one for reading loads of stuff, anything more than a few paragraphs I usually tend to skip. And if a thread goes on page after page I either skim through little bits or read the next thread

:nono:  what you mean is yer brain damaged and cannot concentrate for more than 5 secs at a time to learn about United's great history

Some things you just can not feel from a video

A piece of writing is much more personal

I think there should be a United History sub-forum...a lot of Tom's posts could go there as well as posts from other older posters who want to reminisce about United in the past.

Been reading all day now & still going. Some brilliant writing & insights into what it was like to follow Utd back then. The pcs on 'Big Dunc' & Georgie brought a lump to my throat & a tear to my eye.

Absolutelly great reads. Especially about Duncan Edwards and the munich air disaster, trully brings a tear to the eye. Too bad football will never be like it was before.

I definately think there should be a sub-forum for United History posts.
Somewhere where the younger people can read up on our clubs history as has been said.

Tom's posts make for brilliant reading.

I really like this idea.

I'm more excited at the prospect of meeting Tom, than watching the youth team, while in the DFW-metroplex this week. Does anyone know how to contact him?

I think the wiki, or the classic threads/posts forum is a better place for these kind of topics. Tom's posts are great, but they're not that regular so having a sub-forum is a bit pointless imo. The amount of activity in it will be tiny which kinda defeats the purpose of a forum...
