1. First question and issue: Why clubs and fans keep complaining against VAR?

+ First we have to sit in the VAR room. Are their human, robot or AI?
And if they are human. Then human are born to do mistake and will keep doing mistake. From a human point of view of course. We all human do mistake.

Mistake in this concept. VAR is doing a decision/act that is not in common with the rules how and what will lead to a penalty decision, offside, red car and etc.

Example : Penalty. VAR can only interferes when it was a clear and obvious error by the main referee. And VAR agree with the clubs at the meeting with them. Set out a line to go after. But in practice some peoples in VAR doesn’t follow it. So it lead to disagreement by managers and different clubs.

+ Reason two is what is clear and obvious will just end up as subjective point of view. Like if the challenging was soft or hard enough to give penalty.

The decision are making by from subjective point of view. Not from a objective point of view.

And now I want to explain and give an example what is a objective point of view.

Like :

  • Sugar = is sweet
  • Lime = sour
  • Ice and snow = cold
  • Firer = hot etc etc

Those are objective point of view and no one can argue or debate against it.

But what a moment on football pitch that is obvious and clear error. This can lead to a subjective point of view. We all human see and observe things different. And special the ingredients of a human mind.

Another example is. We all see a same movie. But after the movie. We all have different review, opinion and rating about that movie. And those opinion and review belong to subjective opinion and point of view.

How we view things. Depend on our stand point of view and depend on our taste.

Back to penalty and clear and obvious error. Can sum up this issue like this:

From VAR stand point of view. This see the numer is a 9. They call it a 9, not a 6

6

And from the managers, fans and clubs stand point of view. They see and decide it is a nr.6, not nr.9.

Then we can all argue over this point of view all day long. Trough four season and years after years. We still be argue and complaining each others. We claim the others parts are wrong.

Now, to 2 nd issue. Why clubs disagree with Ballon D’or decision?

+ Same as above. Are those peoples who made the decisions are human, robot or AI? And if they are human. Then they will have subjective opinion and decision that is not in common with the criterias and reasons/factors that will decide who will win the Ballon D’or .

And as human. I can promise. They will not always follow up with those criteria. And if they don’t follow up those criteria. It will lead and open up to clubs to disagree with theirs decisions.

+ Then example what is the criterias to with Ballon D’Or? A player that won most biggest trophies and who that had the biggest impact to those trophies. Or simple who is the best player in that year/season? A calendar year or what ever they call.

And how can this decision made by a objective point of view. It will just end up as a subjective point of view. What will lead to peoples argue with each others. Like who is better of Messi and Ronaldo.

Or like who is best of a CM and a Wingers/attacking players. Those two position and players are totally different. It will be like to compare. What is better of apple and orange? Then it will just end up as a subjective opinion. And leading endless arguing and complaining. Special if they follow the criteria they have set up.

Then like above:

From Ballon D’or stand point of view. It is nr.9 and Rodri is better :

6

From Real Madrid stand point of view. No it is nr.6. Vinicius and Carvajal is better. And one of them should win.

So Ballon D’or and Real Madrid will argue and keep arguing all years long. Without coming to agreement.

So sum up for those 2 issues :

+ We all are human. And human will do mistake, against what we define is right or wrong. Many times we will not make do what in common with the criteria and line we setup to follow and agree with clubs and peoples we interact with.

+ All those nominee like Ballon D’or or Oscar are just subjective opinion and review. Even the major of peoples agree to decide to win or not. Special compare to the objective review, observe and things we can’t discuss, argue and debate on. The truth and true facts.

+ subjective opinion and stand point of view. Will lead to arguing and disagreement. Even the major part stand behind it. Lead to endless discussion and arguing.

But in the end. If the criterias to win Ballon D’or is who has won biggest trophy during that year. Then it shall go to Dani Carvajal clearly. Because what more could Carvajal won that year? He won La liga, Champion league and Euro 24.

Compare to Rodri who only won Premier league and Euro 24. So in this case. If we follow those criteria, ingredients and factors to win Ballon D’Or. I would agree with Real Madrid.

But from a subjective point of view. Who is better of Rodri, Vinicius and Carvajal. I will drop this arguing, debate and conversation. Because like above. Not objective, but with different subjective opinions and stand point of view. Will lead to endless discussion. From we get black hair to grey and white hair. And we will still be arguing.

So those are the main reasons. There are others small reasons. But I will not go into too much details. But from a human perspective. Our human narrow mind. Combine with ours personal taste, subjective opinion and stand point of view.

On what is right and wrong. What is better than the others. What is soft or not soft.

It is human in a nutshell.

In some case neither right or wrong. But in some case. Due to the rules, criteria and line we have set up. It become right or wrong. If we don’t follow it. Then it will lead to complaining and disagreement.

We can reduce the complaining. BUT. The big question is. Do we human always follow the rules? Or the criterias we set up and made? That is the big question. If no, then the answers are above.

The issue is that there subjective doesn't mean there isn't a very very very strong argument for or against something. People do take issue with VAR making mistakes, they take issue with it making howlers. Howlers that someone whose job it is not to make howlers is making. Referees aren't seeing things from a different point of view too often, they are completely ignoring their own guidelines.

The WHU penalty is a prime example. That should have been a decision that was reversed by VAR if it was given on the pitch. It was that bad. The fact VAR felt it was serious enough to send the referee to the monitor is mindboggling. The fact that sending the referee to the monitor is still implying that the referee has almost certainly made a serious error in VARs view is something that needs to change but I say again, subjective doesn't not mean there is not a wrong answer.
