Where are you all now? We are catching up to the Premiership leaders as the loyalist Mu fans knew would happen.Sorry, but it won't be your year again. And again. And again.
Never underestimate Mu. You will always do so at your peril.

I'm still concerned about our defense as we have played some shitty teams of late...Jan 2nd will go a long way in proving if the teams recent success is real or versus lesser competition...a win over Newcastle will boost confidence 2 fold...a blowout/dominate showing will increase confidence 10 fold...by Feb 1st, we will have an accurate assumption of how the season will play out...Jan 2nd is step 3 in our 12 step recovery process...
step 1- get possitive results before Christmas
step 2- put together a winning streak of 3 games or more
step 3- defeat an opponent above our current position
step 4- take care of first FA Cup match
step 5- continue taking max points versus bottom half clubs
step 6- defeat Liverpool at OT...points will decide the clubs final places...and United need the psychological win
step 7- put worth best effort in the FA Cup
step 8- continue taking points in league and avoid mistakes in February
step 9- play YOUR game in Europe...feed off our recent run
step 10- step on the pedal in March...important matches in league, FA Cup, and Europe...
step 11- win vital games in April versus staunch opposition...these games WILL decide the championship...take care of FA Cup and Europe...don't let a loss in either competition ruin our league run (if it happens)
step 12- win out May and crown yourselves champions...play your best game of season in any cup finals...

If United follow my 12 steps, they will win what Liverpool covet...THE REAL TREBLE...(again)

Hey ...I've got a one step plan = WIN ALL REMAINING MATCHES !!! ;) My new year wish :D

All the championship contenders have easy looking new years day fixtures (on paper), whereas we have a very difficult game against newcastle on wednesday.....It's crucial we win the game.

No game is easy for the Bindippers at the moment.

Although you've won quite a few games recently, I feel that your defence still isn't up to scratch.

There wasn't much free-flowing football evident yesterday - for a 'flair' team - Man Utd seemed to be doing an awful lot of humping the ball forward - and to concede a brace of goals against a team that just can't find the net (And they had two total sitters they should have scored from as well) would be worrying for me..

I think you still need a defender or two - it'll be interesting when you meet some teams near the top of the table - or at least some teams that can score goals..

Should be an interesting season.. :D

I would be more concerned about your own team, and your lack of goals and your general poor play at the minute. You've scraped some very fortunate results lately, championship form it ain't.

I wouldn't say losing was 'scraping a fortunate result' - it was nice to claw one back against West Ham, and you are correct - we haven't been playing well all season so far - and yet look where we are.

It should be interesting when (if) we begin to string the odd good performance together.

We have Micky Owen, Stevie G and a few others who are underperforming, but hopefully when Didi returns to the fold, we should look more stable as a unit - it does highlight that Didi is our most important player - and we deffo need cover for him when he's not available.

It's just nice, to be honest, to see a wide-open league like it is at the moment - any one of 7 or 8 teams have a chance at the title - and this can only be good news for English Football.

Wow, two players underperforming. We have had the whole bloody team NOT performing for the first 3 months of the season. Now we are cranking it into third gear it'll be interesting....

Re: Owen. Do you not think that he has been found out and that your opponents are just nullifying the pony's one trick?.

If we were talking about one trick ponies, we'd have to discuss RVN, Beckham, Giggs, P Neville, G Neville, Blanc and Silvestre.. but since we're not..

Micky is a very young player who is learning all the time. He has been critisced for using his right foot only, and has gone on to score with his left peg and his head (against you I seem to rememember)

Players aren't supermen - they are normal people with a talent - Man Utd's talent lies not in the greatness of individual players - but of blending as a team. We haven't managed that yet because we haven't been together as a team for long enough - the fruits of GH's philosophies will be there to see in a year or two - I will quite happily admit that we're not there yet and I can confidently say there is no way we'll win the league this year - we will probably start challenging (to plan) either next year or the year after that.

After this short wait between league titles, I think we can wait a little longer with patience..

:)

Come on the Andy, tell us of RVN's, Becks', and Giggsy's one tricks?. .As for the defenders you mention, I would say that have more dimensions than Jamie Carragher!!!. Plus, as a defender, being multi-dimensional as a player is not as necessary.

Can't you come up with anything better that blatantly biased and completely untrue arguments?. Maybe thats just the thick uneducated simple scouser in you.

Its not very nice to talk about a departing player like that. I'm sure Andy Cole will do well enough at Blackburn....

...oh, you meant Heskey. Sorry. ;)

I thought Newcastle have gone 70+ years without a title...that is the most pathetic...but hang in there, this will be year 12 and there are more glorious times to come for the scouse...enjoy the plastic!

I think that scousers with their usual obsession with Man United just think that us not winning the league for twenty six years is the only record worth mentioning.......

Until Liverpool have the same record......

When they'll mysteriously forget it..... :) ......
