Anyone a fan?

I have played the series sporadically since 2004 and recently got the latest installment. A few things bother me though.

The XP system. Every single one of the Tiger games I've played have had a different aprroach to aquiring skill and a different "point" system to determine skill. The latest is the XP system found in this game. The system in itself is OK enough but the way to aquire points is just silly. In some earlier versions you would buy your skill points, or you could buy equipment that would further your skills but this element is totally gone in this game. Why is this a problem? Well, for starters one of the incentives to do well on the PGA tour part of the game is that your winnings there could actually be used in the game. Alas, that is gone. And playing and doing well on the PGA tour now basically means feck all for the development of "your" player.

The game itself is good, I think but hardly groundbreaking. Compared to 10 the only new things are the Ryder Cup and the True Aim system, and honestly, who would use that? Overall, a good game but I think EA Sports dropped a bollock on the XP system.

Oh, I should mention graphics. Decent but by no means impressive, I can't see any improvement at all from 2010 and the game runs at 720p.

Does anyone else here play it, there's the possibility of an online Caf Tourney here.

I play it all the time, but never online and I have never actually started with the career-mode. I only play offline mulitplayer against my mates, but if there ever was a Caf-tournament I'd be very interested to participate.

Meant to ask this last night. For some reason when I boot up this game on my ps3 there is no sound. When I remove the hdmi cable and plug it back in the sound comes back immediately. I don't have the problem with any other game/dvds. Any ideas?

I'm waiting til I have a bit more free time to get the new one, I've still been playing '11 pretty frequently and enjoying it, so I'm in no huge rush.
