What do you reckon he'll say? To you think that he'll announce his return to the game of golf?

Hopefully something along the lines of "feck off prying into my private life you bunch of pikey cnuts".

Alas, more likely to be his planned return date.

Tiger's message to the world.

"I'm Sorry. Forgive Me. I'm back. I'm ready. I'll be out there doing what I do best. Swinging....

My Dick

and sinking balls in tough little holes."

Eat me bitches!

I'll be interested to see if his face looks any different

There is some talk, bullshit or not, that he needed reconstructive surgery because his wife hit him in the face with the club.

Just couple of the writers from Golf Writers Associate... They're pissed because they wont get a change to ask questions :)

Swing and a miss from the tabloids, Tiger and his team are perfecting the trade, first the jog where they invited Getty Images photographers to snap a candid (Costing tabloid snappers up to a million bucks) and now this press conference being invite only.

Genius.

Golf needs Tiger Woods, they'll sing to whatever tune he calls

It amuses me that he's timed this press conference to go up against the tournament sponsored by one of the sponsors that dropped him.

He is also not very popular with some of the players over the timing of this statement either with it being in the middle of the World Golf Championship event which is sponsored by one of the sponsors who dumped him. It is looking like he has done this deliberately to draw attention from it to himself, as he could have easily done this on Monday after the event not drawing any attention away from it.

Erm:

I fecked up big time, let down my wife/family/children. Disappointed my fans, foundation, peers. Asked the media to leave his family alone and its he's the one to blaim, he knows the consequences of his actions has caused the media to stalk them. He asked for help from his peers/friends to help him get through this and that he has been in therapy since Christmas. He will hopefully return to golf one day, but it isn't a priority currently.

Thats about it really, but it went on for 14minutes.

Everyone in the room seemed very shocked by it, he looked "ike a broken man" as SkySports are putting it.

I hope that when Tiger returns to golf, he kicks everyones ass.

I like that too, he's been making some 'reporters' more bitter than ever, such as Kay Burley.

Is it me or does this not seem as newsworthy as its being made.

I see no reason why he had to make a public apology. If I was him, I would be flaming to respond to all the criticism by winning 2 or more Masters in a row.

BBC Sport - Golf - Tiger Woods apologises to wife Elin for affairs

Tiger is an extrodinary champion of his game, but he's definitly not a great champion. It takes a big man to come out in front of the world and admit his faults, even to his behaviour on the fairways, and face up to them. Maybe he still could become a great champion.

He should become a actor. So staged, so American. He would cheat on his wife again if he knew that he could get away with it.

Ala Michael Jordan, and Richard Nixon

This whole thing reminds me of Nixon to a tee... Tiger should have gone the Kobe route, even though Kobe was facing criminal accusations the sentiment of his apology was real.

I found it funny that Tiger:

a) Apologized to his sponsors, they don't give a feck, they paid you to make them brilliant gainers in global markets... Nike, Tag Heuer, Buick, etc
b) Brought up allegations against him in regards to performance enhancing drugs and his course ettiquite... They don't go hand in hand... Well, maybe the latter shows more of who he is as a man but they're irrelevant.
c) He brought up how he was going into rehab... Noooo noooo noooo

Most men would. That said ithought the same about his acting very good.

Just watched the whole thing.

Fair play, that takes some balls. There is a lot of PR at work but still he appears to be trying to seek redemption. At the end of the day people will not judge him by his words, but by his actions. I hope he puts everything right because I still have a lot of respect for Tiger Woods.

I agree mate.

It's hard for me to accept still because growing up he was my idol, it was family tradition to watch golf on Sundays and more times than not he was near or atop the leaderboard.

From a golf standpoint it's very upsetting because now he's not there, my interest has strayed.

he may have been peoples idol but he's only a man...temptation knocks on everyones door one way or another.

If his wife will try to forgive him fair play to her. thats good for the kids

And if she doesnt its hard luck for him!

I wont judge the man either way.

The American press has slated the performance. They reckon it was naive and only makes Tiger look stupid. His performance wasn't American at all. You have to understand the American psyche.
To go so far an actually admit that even your behaviour on the golf course has not been what it should be probably proves he is sincere. And he wouldn't start talking about his buddhism if he was acting, the Americans will think he's a bit mad for doing that. I personally don't give a shit what he does in his private life, as long as he starts showing some humility when he's playing golf. He could do a lot worse than looking up to his mate Roger Federer in how to behaviour, now he's truely great champion.

a) His sponsors will be the most concerned, they don't want somebody representing them who is a laughing stock.
b) how can you say that? he's made an absolute fortune from the sport and he shows no respect for the game and his fellow professionals. When he plays golf he justs turns up just before his round with a big feck off entourage, spits and swears everywhere and then fecks off with a massive winning check in his back pocket. I know he trains harder then anyone in the game but he should also do more for the game and the majority of his fellow professionals who hardly earn enough to afford an accommodation during an event.
c) he did that to take the attention away from himself. The media might get back to reporting about golf the next couple of weeks.

I think the US PGA Tour will be fine, there's a lot of young exciting starting in the US the next few months such as Ishikawa and Mcllroy. That's going to liven up things big time. Don't forget that normally Woods would have only played in Dubai (European Tour) and at this weeks event so far this season so the US tour hasn't really missed him.

Anyone else reckon that Tiger flipped when his father passed away? I remember a article once about how his father controlled his every move and then suddenly he's gone and he doesn't know how to react. A bit similar to what happened when Britney fired her management team that had turned her into a superstar and then as soon as they aren't around she goes and shaves her head and hooks up with K-Fed....

Even less of a story than who killed some fictional Eastenders character. Who gives a feck.

So how was Tiger's State of the Union address?

Bored to death of the Tiger story, I really couldnt give a feck anymore if & when he comes back. Its as if he thinks the world is waiting with gasping breath to see when the chosen one is returning to Golf. There's much more important issues out there!
