MUFC Champions 2006/2007: Where will the goals com
Something like that anyway ;)

Lilian Thuram has admitted his love for United, which will no doubt spark rumours of a fresh transfer bid from Sir Alex Ferguson

The United boss has consistently named the French international as the best defender in the world, and made no secret of his desire to sign him two years ago. Thuram was then with Parma, and snubbed the Reds in preference for a move to Juventus.

However, that has not deterred Sir Alex, who is rumoured to be considering making a fresh move this summer. And the United chief will be further encouraged by the players' revelation that he loves Reds 'enormously'.

"I can't say if I have any regrets but I will say Manchester United are a club I love enormously," said Thuram. "They are a club who have always been at the highest level with fantastic players, and Sir Alex is a phenomenal manager."

Thuram had an amazing finals the other night... he was one of the best defenders on display (along with Ferara n Nesta) if we do get him it will def solve one of our very important pros as he can play RB as well as CB n with injuries to both our RB/CB position players he wud be the perfect additon

Thuram is good but would cost us a hell of a lot for a 31 year old

Why would they want to - they have just re-established themselves as one of the very top teams in Europe, why would they decide to sell one of the best defenders in the world for 5m?

Don't think he is that great myself...rather have Cafu for nothing

But if it meant winning the CL, wouldn't all the $$ spent be worth it??

About 20mil they payed for him two seasons ago; means Juve really like Thuram. He's a key player for them, so I'd think it would take quite a good fee, and a capable replacement to allow the deal.

Great player to have - speedy & solid attacking defender, a towering & calming presence in defence.

Would love to see him at OT - would be a marvelous acquisition except whether 1 )Utd wants him, 2)he's too expensive, 3) Juve wants to release him & finally, 4) he wants to come! :(

Juve will want at least 10m for him. Hes a great defender but Sorry its too much for a 31 year old

Only wants to come for one last signing on-fee. Money grabbing bastard.

And I take it you have this from a reliable source! And your use of the term bastard, again I take you have done some research into his family history! Do me a favour, anyone that knows of Thuram knows that he is one of the most decent & honest men in the game, any desire to play at OT IMO is genuine, not some money grabbing scheme.

On a more positive note, could see this one happening, SAF big fan, Thuram vice versa, plus I hear Thuram doesn't talk to Lippi, perhaps this is the time for him to come to these shores?

Thuram doesn't talk to Lippi?

More nonsense.

Players are a lot cheaper in todays market, the Italian league isn't doing very well financially but i really don't think he would cost much more than what i stated earlier. He might fancy a change he is unhappy at playing RB and apparently had a little tiff with Lippi not long ago. I might have been a little hasty before with value.

I agree that he might fancy coming to United as a CB. Just don't see Juve letting him go- Key player, etc, or United offering the money that would change their mind. I'd be happy to be wrong though.
