Wasn't the most impressive performance alright. He was brilliant in the centre for a long time when he played at Parma. Juve have been playing him in a full back position all season and of course he has always performed well there for France. There are shades of Micky about him really.........I want to play in the centre etc. But I reckon he's a great centre half and just suffered the other day from being moved in beside Desailly mid-game. If France progress we should see the best of Thuram in the middle.
I think I must have been watching a different game. He was one of their best players, IMO.

I saw enough to know that he isnt what we want. Thats a one man brick wall like Stam. Thats the only way we'll get really solid because we have no viable, solid partnership.
Cast your minds back (watch videos) and you'll see how great Stam was. Truly the best CB in the world at the time. Thuram doesnt touch him.

Anyone with a brain even a person like me who loves Thuram could see both against Sengal and Uraguay he was exposed for pace. Think about it. Would you like Blanc to have an equaly slow defender alnogside him?
