Jeff Hardy: “But yeah, just that night in Edinburgh, Texas for some reason, I finished my heat, you know, I took the heat, and I just said, 'I'm ready to go.' I went over the rail and disappeared into the crowd. Naturally, they think I took something like drugs or whatever, but I didn't."

... He's a bit of a bellend is Jeff.

If he’s claiming he was clean and fine, then it was an absolute dick move.

How have people not cottoned on to this yet?

He was fine, he wasn't under any influence. If it were any other superstar you wouldn't think drugs but because it was Jeff everyone jumped the gun and he knew that would happen. He did it on purpose because he wanted to jump ship and join AEW. I say fair play, rather than sitting out his contract at home he forced WWEs hand and they released him.

Jeffs playing 4d chess under water whilst Vince is playing with Nick Khan.

It's a total dick move... Or at the very least highly unprofessional. If a footballer just walked off the pitch in the middle of a game he'd be roundly criticised.

Normally I'd agree in terms of it, but WWE have shown they equally or more so don't give a feck about their independent contractors

It’s extremely distasteful.

I wish some of ours had enough respect and did actually walk off, instead of pretending to be worthy of playing for us.

I’d argue extremely distasteful is, for instance, sacking hundreds of employees (or “independent contractors”) during a global pandemic whilst making record profits.

I’m all for anyone fecking with that company.
One doesn’t equate to the other. Playing off past drug issues to get a release is beyond the pale.

You’re right they’re not equal, that companies one is thousands of times worse, and probably still isn’t in their top 200 examples of how disgusting they are.

As for Jeff, man walked out because he thought he’d get away with it, then that company started insinuating he was taking again and released him. It’s not like he’d have gotten a release if he just asked for one, just ask Mustafa Ali.

Was it unprofessional? Yeah, it was. Was he wrong for it? Absolutely not.

I reckon this AFO/Hardys feud is made for a Stadium Stampede match.

You've got the cinematic nature, which can cover for Sting being old. You've got tall things, for Darby and Jeff to jump off. Matt's already proven he knows his shit when it comes to cinematic matches.

To even things up, because it's 5 vs 4 right now, I'd add Keith Lee into it. Simply because the mental image of one of whichever one of Private Party does the high-pitched squeal getting pounced brings me joy.

Well they don't, and yeah, the independent contractor thing is total bullshit... but they don't fire people in the middle of their matches, and when you sign with the WWE you take their money and you know the deal that comes with it. Its not even like he's in an Ali situation either... He hadn't asked for his release, hadn't (as far as we know) voiced displeasure, and was beinh used on TV (not well, but still)

Plus what about his colleagues in the match with him? And the fans that paid to watch? Shows contempt for then at the very least... I dunno, just seems like selfish /dickish behaviour to me.

Kevin Owens was brilliant as Stone Cold... Great segment.

If this was a proper match, I'd be incredibly hyped... Still, they've built it well so I'm looking forward to whatever it is

Rumours are their segment closes night 1. They could possibly set up a real match for night 2.

Stupid thing is though, if they wanted to sell ticket's, you would advertise Stone Cold's final match as a big deal and sell bucket loads.

So if they do a talk show and have other Texas stars appear also (as rumoured) seems like a waste and then if they did make a match for next night, it would again be a major failing from marketing and money making perspective.

Last I heard, Austin still wasn't sure if he wanted to wrestle or not, so they left it wide open, which is kinda dumb.

It would appear it's very unlikely that the Rock will wrestle The Tribal Chief next year.

Rocks schedule is to tight to allow for a build up and also possible injury concerns as well are a huge factor.

Movies, TV and XFL are all locked in pretty much.

So when do we think we'll see Gable Steveson v Bron Breakker on the main roster?

The crowd at dynamite were red hot. Always makes shows much better

Fair play to Jericho
Getting into shape looks to have made him look and move ten years younger

Mjf is great but it helps he has the freedom of aew
Half his promos would not work or be allowed in WWE. Would be interesting to see how he adapted to that but aew is a great home for him
Hopefully he's the one to dethrone Adam page

Yeah, Jericho looked awful for a while but has done a great job on slimming down and looking much more mobile.

My god. Ronda is awful isn’t she. It feels like this run is her as a ‘celebrity’ just coming in for a mania match, her promos are dreadful and her in ring work doesn’t blow me away either.

Trips officially retired.

Sad times, one of my favourites and one of the best to do it.

He was pretty much all but retired before the health stuff but still sad. I think he's one of the most underrated ever. Absolutely brilliant on the mic and a great worker. The booking turned so many people against him but as an overall worker he was brilliant.

And to think his legacy with NXT all totally destroyed by Vince

Triple H retiring without fanfare or recognition is a little odd. He had a legendary career in this industry and who would have thought the end would come this way. Having said that, it might be a blessing that he knows when to step away, after his health troubled.

I think he'll headline next year's Wrestle mania. And I can see Shawn Michaels inducting him

Scott Steiner on a live mic in WWE 2022 is wild.

Don't think he'll say anything too crazy in fairness, with Bron being pushed (not that it matters, he'd still be getting the push either way), but still must see TV.

He better call someone fat

What a weird timeline this will be if its not just a storyline and Cody is "Vince's guy" not just in a match with Seth or as a gimmick on screen, but actually has backstage input with Vince because of his success with AEW and All In. I mean it sounds weird but WWE did a lot of things that TNA did before, used a lot of TNA talent and hired a bunch of their backroom guys as well. So it wouldnt be the first time that Vince liked personnel and ideas from a rival promotion and brought them into WWE. And with Triple H's physical condition and what happened in NXT vs AEW he obviously isnt the guy after Vince so there is a hole there.

Totally forgot mania is this weekend. Surely this has to be one of most underwhelming mania card, at least since 2000. This is the issue when you put all the eggs in one basket aka roman and Brock. I think this will be the first mania in some years that I may skip.

Yeah, it's on 2 days as well which makes it even worse that they couldn't book anything remotely decent

Was reading other day, former WWE ref say that during pandemic, they took 4 hours to shoot 1 match.

From that time period, there wasn't any match half decent, so to spend 4 hours faking a 10 minute match and still be awful, says a lot about Vince and WWE

I think they've gone a great job with the Owens / Austin thing... I'm definitely hyped for that.

Edge vs AJ / Becky vs Bianca should be great, and Rhodes coming in is interesting so there's definitely bits to it all... But yeah overall there is something a bit underwhelming about it all, though not so much that I'll be skipping it.
