Is Owens really a dream match? It'll be Owens bad mouthing Texas, Austin comes out hits the stunner.

Goldberg won't be a great match either but at least I suppose it'll be a spectacle.
No?

Not caught up with Dynamite yet, but been following all the Cody fallout.

It’s incredible that we’re now getting strong confirmation that there was never any intention from Cody to turn heel, which begs the question as to what we have been watching from him for the last two years?! I think everyone thought we were getting a slow-burn, delusions of grandeur heel turn, where he’d finally break his own promise to never challenge for the world title. But, no, the guy just really had bought into his own hype. Still – even as of last week – he saw himself as being the top babyface in the company, despite the whole world viewing as an ever more obnoxious, distracted and self aggrandising heel! Amazing.

The tease of the pedigree into a tiger driver was not supposed to be the harbinger of a heel turn!

Doesn't really make sense as people like Black would openly talk in promos about the fans turning on him.

How were Sting or Goldberg buried?

Goldberg beat The Rock, Jericho, destroyed everyone in the Elimination Chamber and would of won the title then if he hadn’t refused a overseas tour, took the title of HHH, only eventually lost the title in a triple threat because of Evolution, entered a programme with Brock and beat Lesnar at Mania.

Sting joined the WWE in his 50s. Had a great debut at Survivor Series, and started a feud with the biggest available heel in the WWE at the time The Authority. Had a huge match at Mania with HHH and DX/NWO involvement. You could argue that he should of won but does it really matter? It didn’t affect him in anyway. His next match is a world title match which he loses again in a memorable programme before he retires due to injury.

Don't try to be reasonable. HHH buried everyone and that is all anyone ever needs to think.

Kairi Sane/Hojo ' s warm welcome back to Stardom

Stardom did the 2nd most business in 2021 behind New Japan last year. She should have some great matches there and looks like a star

Still reports that Cody may still sign with AEW.

Also reports that Vincent is masterbating right now at the delight of signing AEWs EVP

He’s apparently been photographed in Poland in an airport. Maybe off to Saudi?

Tony Khan is promising something Huge about to be announced next week some time.

I'm guessing he's signed Doink the Clown.

They’ve backed themselves into a corner a bit really…promise massive announcement, big ratings, underwhelm, poor ratings next show, promise massive announcement to compensate, underwhelm, rinse and repeat.

Stop hyping announcements for the one off viewing figures just to underwhelm and suffer the week after.

The Keith Lee debut was cool, but way it was hyped, who cared/even knew there was a title match the same night?

Exactly and even Khan admitted 3 days before Dynamite he had to go to New Japan and get someone in because he had overhyped.

Considering he has a working relationship with New Japan, its hardly forbidden door.

Cody to WWE would actually be a huge deal in 2022, one that Khan can't match unless Reigns or, Orton or Rollins went to AEW.

No one else is big enough, thanks to Vinces bad booking.

Would be great for AEW if this is all a work. It’ll be a good heel turn with Cody seen as a greedy bastard.

I think there's 0% chance its a work, but if after everything they still came to an agreement and Cody was revealed as the big deal I would laugh my ass off.

However I also think that would pretty much turn Tony heel, and hes not really supposed to be much of an on screen character and when he is its as a face. So thats where it would backfire because it would paint him as the bad guy.

I'm wondering if it's something to do with streaming AEW's back catalogue etc as I know he said a while back he want's to do this when he can get a carrier on board etc.

From latest stories, there were a number of issues with Cody & Brandi backstage.

They were not universally liked despite all the pleasant messages publicly.

Brandi was meant to have more involvement backstage with women's division but Tony Khan gave himself that role leaving her limited in input

Omega had a great interview on WOR and he touched on what he thought might have been factors, as he isnt that close with Cody outside of a professional capacity and doesnt know.

The Bucks and Omega's visions of what a top new wrestling company would be were more similar than what it was in Cody's mind. And Tony is 100% in control anyway, its up to him. But Cody was the one who wanted to go to war with WWE whereas the Bucks and Omega just wanted to provide an alternative to WWE.

Now what if WWE is going to have Cody as a new NWO bringing in former AEW guys (when contracts are up and if they want to join) to simulate a "wrestling war" that hes in control of. I dont think that'll be the plan because usually the cometition to WWE just gets squashed and that wouldnt work. But I think its interesting given Cody was the one gung ho about the war and maybe with it not being like that with AEW and WWE, the next best thing to him would be WWE letting him do it as a storyline

I've personally enjoyed AEW much more since khan's been a bit more bullish and had the final say on everything. Much better product.

But there's a thin line between being bullish and overhyping signings. He's on the verge of crossing that line, isn't he?

The product has been better, to be fair.

I heard that Tony’s big announcement is a working deal with New Japan. I have a buddy that works at impact and he said that’s what everyone thinks it is.

I'd prefer a working relationship with Stardom who have the same owners.

Theres already some kind of relationship with New Japan which is why they've had NJPW on AEW. The only way it would really go to the next level is if you do a joint pay per view vs each other or something which doesnt seem very realistic with covid restrictions.

A couple of top stardom women coming in for a few matches with Britt Baker, Thunder Rosa and Tay Conti would be a big bonus

He has that already with New Japan.

Hence bringing Jay in last week at last minute.

Unless they are going to do some big joint ppvs or something

I read a few posts in this thread suggesting that an Austin Vs Goldberg match is a possibility for WrestleMania. But Roman and Goldberg are apparently going to kick off tonight's PPV, according to PWInsider. If true (and I'm not one to put stock into anything these dirtsheets say), then there's no chance of Austin getting involved.

If there is indeed any plan whatsoever for Austin to face Goldberg, I have no idea how they plan to set up that feud.

If the New Japan thing is true, I think it has more to do with getting Okada in. Stardom would be nice for us wrestling fans but can’t see it happening as Kenny gets his Japanese girls from DDT.

5pm.

The women are covered for their "modesty" but Rhea and Liv are in covered entirely in latex so I'm not sure how that works.
Is it the kick off right now? I tuned in at 5 and it was the kick off stuff

For a second I thought Lashley being taken out was a way Cody sneaks in and wins the title.

Lashley got taken out in such a stupid way.

Imagine a team of writers coming up with that shit?

Watched this after buying a month of Network for the Rumble and the quality is absolutely shocking, I refuse to believe wrestling fans watch and enjoy this crap on a weekly basis.

Honestly what a crock of shit that was.

I don't understand WWE logic sometimes

I realise one shouldn't spend time thinking too much about WWE logic, or lack thereof, but... Does two titles actually make Brock vs Reigns bigger!? And in any event, does it make it more bigger then having ANOTHER actual world title match? Of course it bloody doesn't. It's daft.

I love this Brock character and this Brock run, but this really doesn't help and seems totally pointless.

I've talked a lot of shit about Lesnar, but I really enjoyed that. I'm a convert, I'm also loving the reigns super run, looking g forward to wm.

Riddick Moss took a horrible bump on his neck. Could have been a horrible injury.

I know what they said,

But its not gonna happen.

Reigns will screw Brock from winning in Elimination Chamber.

Or Seth Wins it.

Mania will not be Title v Title
Genuinely intrigued as to what your trail of thought was?
