I'm just wondering if any of you have an opinion about Stephen McPhail. He does not seem to be getting a look in at Elland Road (ok injuries etc.) but any time I've seen him play he has been excellent. As Mr Destro put's it, he has a lazy left foot ala Liam Brady.

With the right coach (Mr Ferguson) I believe that Stephen would blossom in Uniteds colours. What say you?

I have only seen him ONE time for like, 3 minutes, and yeah, I don't have an opinion about him. ;)

No chance. If he can't make the Leeds midfield he won't make the Man Utd reserve midfield. And he'll probably be ousted from the Ireland team by a Celtic reserve in Colin Healy.

You mean cos he's Irish yeah?

He's no better than Chadder or probably Stewart/Djordic IMO ... the only thing he has there at Elland road is the chances to play some 1st team soccer 'cos of the occasional mounting of injuries ... IF he's in OT, I am not sure though he'll be any good to unlock any of the regular midfielders ...

Moreover, we already have enough talented midfield youngsters coming up ... Everybody know abt them now .. .

I admit that because he is Irish I have taken more notice of him. I think that his performances however have been more mature than Luke Chadwick's however, he has had a bad run of injuries over the last 18 months so he has not made the impact that he should have done.

Jesper Blomqvist was an excellent coup for United and following an awful run of injuries is starting to rebuild a career at Everton. Who is to say that had he remained injury free, he would be still at United. Jesper needed to move in the end IMO because he needed a change.

In the same way I think that Stephen McPhail would benefit from a move to United, he will prove to be a class act wherever he plays. A change for him at this stage may mean a new lease of life and I for one would like to see him use that lease in the United colours, that's all.

I wonder what marchingontogether thinks of the young Irishman.

When he was playing well before his injury he looked like he was going to develop into a top drawer player in the mould of brady.Unfotunately he has been frozen out at Leeds and badly needs a move if he is to fullfil his undoubted potential. In my opinion OLeary has made a balls of his job at Leeds,he doesnt command the same respect from his players as certain other managers,he has spent a fortune and hasnt been able to build a team capable of winning anything. There doesnt seem to be areal team ethic at the club, they just dont seem to play for one another;too many premadonnas!

Actually its a team with too many thugs, but thats what you get with Leeds.

Leeds are actually a quality football side and are capable of winning lots in years to come, they're the youngest side out of all the top challengers. This is down to O'Leary - nice football, good youth system, great future.

Just a discipline and injury problem which stops them winning so far - at the start of the year they were my most feared team.

Mcphail is a good prospect, but he isnt gonna be the next Keano/Scholes or anything. Now Kewell - he was a great purchase.

Discipline is one problem, but not the only one. IMO their failure during these years largely due to they still missing one or two experienced performer. Our success in the last ten years were based in a good mix of very potential home grown talents and some experienced world class performance. Players such as Cantona, Mark Hughes, Schmichael, Pally, Bruce, Robson, Stam... They played well themselves and guide our youngsters to play well. Leeds have money to spent, but O'Leary is doing a bad job in this area. He should buy somone who can immediately raise their performance to another level, rather than waste the money on one more future potential in Seth Johnson.
