I've stopped guests viewing the forum for the time being.

Not too sure if its running any faster or not, so will the ones that are on here overnight let me know if its running any faster or not.

If it runs faster then we'll probably leave it switched off on match days.

The problem seems to be web crawlers which is taking up about 15% of the bandwidth.

at the minute its seems very quick to change pages

Also its not just match days it gets busy, but also when theres a big announcement like Rooney or the champions league draw

I couldn't get on for about 3 hours this afternoon. That plus Redissue was down as well, didn't know what the feck was happening. Ended up on bluekipper taking the piss :D

Yer its running alot faster infact i think this is the 1st time iv seen more members then guests 65 to 64. Theres been like 200+ on the site and i just get bored waiting for pages to load up.

Exactly!

60 guests left on and it looks like they're all web crawlers.

Does anybody know how to get rid of these?

so i see but wat are they doing, cause they cant view any forums,

now there is 102 guests, they mustve found a way in without the user name and password

I believe the guests are still web crawlers, could be wrong though.

It seems they're viewing archives of forums rather than the usual format

Yeah the pages are taking an age to load for some reason.

And last night I couldn't get in after the match had finished

same here once again,

as ive said before, does it matter if this site is run of one computer, or can you have several computers running this site, if so would it take less time for the pages to load.

more computers running this site= more bandwith

anyone???????

Mirrors you mean?

Trouble there is that they would all have to be kept in sync. Difficult to say the least, and a large taker up of bandwith with all the copying of data to try and keep them in sync (impossible).

The only absolute solution would be to move to a dedicated server which would cost Niall an arm and a leg.

Im sure the posters on here can spare a few arms and legs. How many limbs are we talking about btw?

Not sure but in practice collecting funds is time consuming and tends to only work for an initial period of enthusiasm.
