The long, long wait was over.

How did you celebrate us winning the league for the first time in 26 years?

I was 9 years old listening to the final few minutes of Villa v Oldham on the radio.

I was three so I probably shat myself.

I was at my Uncles house with all the family celebrating, I was 11 years old it was a simpler time.

What a party we had my Dad and Uncle had been through it all with United all the 70's they were home and away through all the shite and just to see them finally see it happen what a day!

Didn't know who Brian Gibs was but I reckoned he was good.

I remember being at Old Trafford for the Blackburn Rovers celebration party - still ranks as the best party atmosphere I can remember at the ground

I had a bet in the job I was at the time, 3 dippers fans, and a Leeds Utd fan. We all bet £10 so £40 was coming my way, and they all welched on it tossers the lot of them. I had only just met my Mrs then, and I partied on my own realy every fecker else I new at the time were Dippers.

That hasn't changed much. Jeez 30 yrs seems like yesterday.

I was too young to remember the 1st one ...hopefully I'm not too old to remember the next first one :(

As soon as the Oldham Villa game finished I drove down to Old Trafford , there were 1000’s already there, I remember a few players coming down, maybe Lee Sharpe , but I had waited 25 years for that moment. As Rood says the Monday night Blackburn game was so emotional, and also the Wimbledon game the week after where 28,000 reds filled the 31,000 Selhurst Park and of course Pete Boyle did his famous streak.

Was 14, playing football in the park with my dad. Can't remember if we had a radio with us or found out on the radio afterwards but a radio was involved somewhere along the way.

Had LMTBs in the family stand in those days so was at the Blackburn match the night after.

I celebrated it with my older cousin. I told him that this is will be one of many and he told me to pipe down and to enjoy the moment. Guess what? I was right for once

Its been 30 years and Im fairly sure the majority of that time Ive been convinced that the Blackburn game was the final game of the season.

Having a boogie in my mother’s womb, preparing for my near-arrival to planet earth.

18 at the time it was an unbelievable feeling had a few beers and plenty of singing with my older brothers and a few mates who were Reds.

I was 13. Remember it like it was yesterday. I was the only United fan at school. All my mates were Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal supporters, so I couldn’t wait to go in to school and gloat.

The cherry on the cake at the Blackburn game was Gary Pallister banging in a last minute free kick after being the only regular in the squad not to score that season

I'm not a Manc and I was only 14 at the time, supporting United since the FA Cup final in 1990, so I can't begin to imagine what it would have been like for fans born and raised in United supporting families who had to suffer from decades of disappointment.

I do remember RTE (Irish TV) used to show Saturday afternoon games with a 30 minute delay so I saw Brucie's double v Sheffield Wednesday (almost) live (and there was no Internet or smart phones back then so it was easy to avoid results) and I remember going almost as mad as Brian Kidd at the time when the second goal went in!

I recall Oldham beat Villa, against the odds, on a Sunday to secure the title for United and it felt, I dunno, a little anti-climactic compared to the euphoria after the Wednesday win, even though this was the result that actually secured the league!

Remember it like yesterday, listened to it on BBC radio 5 whereby Alan Greene was so forced to sing the praise of United.

Watched the highlights afterwards, and bought the VHS season video.

Good piece here.

Remember it well as a near ten year old boy the dramma on the radio in caravan for bruce getting us the win against wednesday i near smashed the door through celebrating then against blackburn pallister scoring the free kick at the end and of course robson getting his farewell goal what a time it was :) the fergie days will never ever ever be repeated or come close to the joy and football was just so much fun back then. If i could have a time machine id go back to watch it all again.

I was 12 years old and 2 years in supporting the club. I used to write down every result and scorer and back then would tune into the radio. Was a very special moment, I remember enjoying it all again on MOTD, goosebumps and the elation was beyond words and the success that followed after, were great years being a fan in the 90s and having bragging rights over your mates at school (had a few dippers in my group)

Bruce has much as any was pivotal to our success that year and agree with other posters those goals against Wednesday were massive.
