....isn't bad considering the amount of injuries we've had.

A few different team selections and we might have been higher, but Arsenal and Liverpool - or both -will lose points when they play each other, and if we can get points from those two, we're in with a shout. And if we can't, we don't deserve to win anything anyway.

Whatever way you look at it the period in which we play Pool, City, the Toon and the Arse in quick succession will be crucial, and could decide whether we will be challengers this season. I've been impressed with our opening. We have had bad luck with injuries/suspensions/court cases but have dealt with it well. ;) The most important thing is that we keep in touch with the leaders until the transfer window opens and we can add to the team, but until then we have to string together an unbeaten run.

We have had a bad run with injuries and suspensions but as the biggest club in the country, that's what we keep telling every body, should we not be able to cover these injuries a little better. All clubs will get injuries, it's how you cover them that will determine your final league position.

Us without Roy, Butt, Wes, Ruud and Rio is like the Arse without Vieira, Silva, Cygan, Henry and Sol. Not sure how well they'd do without them.

We're playing better this season that at the same stage last season..the defence is much tighter, and placed third at this stage is no problem at all.

Consequence of being more in touch though, is that we need more points this year out of the key games...Liverpool, Arsenal in particular. Beat Arsenal in December and everyone will be looking over their shoulder.

Arsenal have peaked early, the schmucks !!

All in all not a bad start to the season.
Lets face it we have been far from full strength and had a few players struggling for form.I think it will turn out to be between us and The Arse again .But we have to perform better in the big games this year in order to triumph.
