about the big announcement on July 5th. Where are they coming from, and why is everyone so paranoid that there will be a shock announcement?
 
Just a rumor hyped up incredibly by some forum bobos who act all important and weird enough a few ppl support them and believe everything these bobos say ---> they start telling everyone how these bobos definitely have important sources and connections with the club and that earlier rumors spread by these bobos have "come true" ---> ppl start doubting.

Paranoia and wild speculation are reigning supreme at the moment. On the long thread dealing with rumours I have read that Ruud is on his way out, so is Keano, Jaap Staam is coming back, etc.

All I can say is there are some very gullible posters on this board. The one about Jaap is particularly ludicrous - Sir Alex is going to swallow his pride and welcome back a player he sold for reasons best known to himself and who has been punished for taking a banned substance. Yeah, right.

And the player chosen by his peers in the Premier League is going to march out of Old Trafford and go to Spain or Italy because Sir Alex kept him warming the bench for a few games last season. I don`t believe Ruud is such a prima donna that any flare up he has had with Sir Alex or Roy Keane or whoever can assume such importance that he will exit after only one fantastic season.

As for Keano, I believe he may retire earlier than he intended but it won`t be this season. The man has his heart set on a Champions` League medal and won`t walk away without attempting again to win that prize.

The news I would like to hear is that the inspirational Keano is going to play in defence for Manchester United, improving what at times verged on the shoddy, and giving Veron the opportunity to mastermind the midfield.

Now that would be great news!
 
Oh and I forgot to say - if the announcement is about Rio Ferdinand joining then that would be the best news of the year!

United SHOULD NOT be chasing older Italian or French defenders - we need young yet experienced defenders. I was not sorry Sol did not join us as he has some obvious limitations in his game but Rio is better, is young and yet has so much experience.

Apparently some poster on RedIssue says there is a 75% chance Eriksson will be United Manager with Fergie going to a general role. Don't know what that means, perhaps as a consultant. Apparently the latest SAF deal was just a cover-up. Please put on you seat-belts, we're entering close-season territory, expect turbulence… ;)
 
Redissue, Rednews, etc. They're all full of hot air imo. They don't know anymore than you or I.
 
Well, if Eriksson becomes Manchester United manager, let`s hope he has the common sense so utterly lacking in England`s loss to Brazil.

I loathe shutting up shop tactics to defend a slender 1-0 lead so if the rumours are concerning Eriksson, I for one hope they are untrue. Sir Alex Ferguson did not win so many trophies by making United play so defensively.

Eriksson is not the wonder man many wishful thinkers make him out to be. When the crunch came he was completely wrong tactically and when he was manager of Lazio they were not noted for interesting football.

Please make this rumour one that is not true.

It's some rumour thought up by the owner of some board that isn't attracting enough visitors. It's all total shite.

So Ruud's sale wont be announced on July 5th but he will be sold one day

I predict the same for all the other players at the club apart from the one's that retire there
