to allow standing at old trafford. Most football fans prefer to stand "dont they?".The atmosphere is much better, and it is allowed in the other european communities.
There were mistakes in the past (Bradford) But somebody out there must have good plans to make standing safe in a football stadium.
And Surly....if United took the case against the f A to a european court...they would surly win.

IMUSA are campaigning for this too.

I'm on board with safestanding. Hopefully one day the govt will at least allow the subject to be debated again.. last time it was scheduled for parliment the opponents of it made sure it never got discussed by dragging out the previous topics until the end of the session (a common tactic in hte commons I belive)

I stood on my chair at Wembley once, and the bloody thing folded back up while i was still standing. <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" />

Standing at Old Trafford is safe. The controls on the numbers in each stand is tightly controlled.
After Hillsborough fans are more aware of the risks.
The only reason terraces were taken away was in light of the Taylor reprt after Hillsborough which seemed to convientely miss the fact that the police had to take some responsibility and blamed everything on terracing. If you took the fences down, employed enough stewards then standing wouldn't have been a problem
