Close to finishing this Series and it really is one of the most fascinating TV Series ever created. If you're looking for a definitive history of the Second World War, then this is it. It's excellently written and narrated and really opens your eyes to the horrors of World War II.

It's a first hand account of the War, people who were involved make an appearance, and for that reason alone a documentary like this can never be made again.

Highly recommended for all those who show at least a slight interest in History.

I was looking at this on Play.com the other day.

Is the footage good to? I recently bought a DVD of Auschwitz, and disgusting as it was and upsetting to watch - the footage was excellent, and did not hold back.. which I prefer.

That's why I enjoyed Band Of Brothers so much. As muller said, is the footage good?

Footage is very good, some of it is amazing.

You really have to applaud the people who would record this, their bravery and courage at least.

I would say that it's the best documentary series I've ever seen.

.......And just bought it. £36 off amazon for the 11 disk set. Cant wait now.

Reading a book called "Eyewitness Auschwitz" at the minute. Hard reading really, extremely good book though. Written by a man forced to work in the crematorium and gas chambers in the camps. I think its so important for the knowledge of the WW's to continue, and never let it be forgotten.
