Here you go, cuntos. Now you can talk about the comics without having to cry about using spoilers for it. Problem solved.

I bought the first one from waterstones the other day, £7.50 each is a bit steep but it was good cant wait ti get the next and see what happens.

We should probably just all move to this thread so we can say whatever we want, and those who are concerned about spoilers can stay in the other one.

We now have an official spoiler policy. If you have suggestions how it can be improved please start a thread about it but also please stick to it until any changes occur to avoid infraction induced unhappiness. The policy is in a sticky at the top of the page.

comic book talk that will be considered spoilers for the tv series. Do not look if you don't want to know. Comic talk from the prison-woodbury-alexandria so if your not that far in don't read either
So I've just done a cram of the 90 comics on my hard dirve again and I'd forgotten it was a fantastic series. So I'm glad they didn't have hershel having the myriad of kids he had in the comic and the fates of his 2 youngest in the prison. I also can't see them doing the whole michonne and governor relationship. Will they also have the balls on the TV series to do the lori and judith thing. Anyway weres everyone else upto

Again, comics...don't look if you only watch tv...

I'm upto the part where Rick and Carl have left the prison after the assault...was rather shocked about Lori. Need to save up to buy the next comics. I hope they do include all the stuff with michonne and the governor, might be too risky for tv though, was a great read and they don't have to be as visually graphic...

Are you serious? Ever heard of a torrent?

No? What's a torrent? :nervous:

Eventually found them via torrent, on PDF format, transferred to iPad and away we go.

Just finished the prison part, I hope they stick pretty close to the comic plot here, that murderer guy is a bit insane!!

Comic Spoiler..

Im looking forward to seeing if they chop of Ricks hand. There are a few other bad asses still to come into it as well, looking forward to seeing who they use as the actors

I'm happy with the choice for the Governor, David Morrisey does that whole nice guy, then psycho thing very well. Other than him and Michonne I hope they do Tyreese in the gym for 24 hours.

It's funny seeing all the folks in the TV thread hating on the best characters from the comics. Nobody likes Michonne or Carl despite them both being (later in Carl's case) awesome in the comics. I think they have been handled somewhat badly by the creators of the show and I often wonder what the point of them changing things like how Michonne is introduced, it hasn't added anything.

Comic Spoiler
Poor Glenn. Frig me I wasn't expecting him to go out like that.
It's strange in that Negan and the surviors are a bigger threat than the Governor and Woodbury ever was but I don't find him anywhere near as worrying. Even after his antics with Lucille.

Comic spoiler:

Glenns death was utterly shocking, no way did I expect it either. Negan is here to stay for a while i'd guess.

I feel sorry for people who are only watching the show. The finale tonight was utter shit, if you are going to deviate from the source material at least try and improve it.

Just finished reading the second compendium, and nearly finished the first season of the TV show.

comic spoiler

That double page spread of Carl's half blown off face looking on in shock saying "Dad?", crikey.

That whole part was just a massacre, Abraham and Michonne are just machines. I always thought Andrea was much younger than she actually is as well, when she said "I'm 36 years old" I did a bit of a double take.

Jesus is some kind of kung-fu master.

Gonna be interesting to see how closely the TV show sticks to the comics, the first episode was basically a carbon copy but since then it's been a bit more loose.

I'll have to see if I can get hold of the newer ones, might be a while until the next compendium!

The Governor on the show is a wimpy pussy in comparison to the comic book.

Not got to him yet in the show, so can't comment but

comic spoilers

I highly doubt they'll do the whole tied up Michonne rape stuff in the show, and they probably won't do the dick nailed to a board, nail ripping off, eyeball plucking, arm chopping torture that Michonne does to him later. I could be surprised, but I doubt it. Michonne is my favourite character and I just get the feeling the TV show won't be able to do her justice, I'll wait and see on that though.

The show is about 100 times better written than the comic.

100 times.

Kirkman is an adequate plotter, but his writing and dialogue is absolutely woeful. His episode of the Walking Dead tv show was absolutely appalling as well.

How correct you were.

I know people are enjoying the show but all I think about when I watch it are the comics and how much better they are.

Anyone read the latest issue? Negan's fortress is pretty awesome, going to be interesting to see if he tries to turn Carl against those in the town.

They're alright in the sense that you never know what's going to happen. Pretty exciting.

Not the best written but certainly enjoyable.

I love the burning punishment. He'll try to turn Carl but he's going to die for what happened
with Glenn

I feel one of the great strength of the comics are the characters, especially if you compare it to the TV series.

While in the comics there are a lot of characters I find something interesting or likeable about the characters in the TV show all greatly annoy me bar maybe Glenn and Daryl.

The only thing I feel they really have to watch out for at this point is that they don't repeat themselves too often like most people have already pointed out at this point it seems to go in circles, they find a hideout a save haven and than comes a group that threatens you and those people that seem friendly at first usually have something to hide in the "barn".

I've been reading the Walking Dead pretty much from the start, but stopped around the time Rick and the gang wound up in Alexandria. I stopped reading comics altogether pretty much.

But having seen the tv series where I spent much of the time fast forwarding and rolling eyes (mind, there are still some pretty great scenes), and at the same time started reading comic books again as well, decided to return to The Walking Dead.

Pretty glad for that. Now at the third of All Out War storyline (issue #117), and the first thing one sees as a difference between the show and the book is just how smarter are cartoon Rick and others...I feel they do things I hope I would do in similar scenario, yet don't feel the same for characters from tv series.

Its generally much more exciting...and terrifying. Well, guess thanks to how much more one can draw, but other can't really show on AMC.

Glenn's face will be hard to forget, Carl's too.
