10 Best Rap Albums of 2011

10. Childish Gambino - 'Camp'
9. Saigon - 'The Greatest Story Never Told'
8. DJ Quik - 'The Book of David'
7. Killer Mike - 'PL3DGE'
6. J. Cole - 'Cole World: The Sideline Story'
5. The Roots - 'undun'
4. Phonte - 'Charity Starts at Home'
3. Jay-Z and Kanye West - 'Watch the Throne'
2. Kendrick Lamar - 'Section .80'
1. Shabazz Palaces - 'Black Up'

Don't think I'd have the Throne in my top ten, let alone at three. Also I'd have Goblin in there. Havn't listened to a couple of them, Black Up, Undun, Section.80, Camp and The Sideline Story are all brilliant.

Feel free to add your two cents.

Take Care was decent, the best two minutes on it is Kendrick's interlude though. No way number one. J. Cole's album was and still is great, his production is brilliant.

The cole album production was far from brilliant. Some of the beats were repettitive and the drums seemed the same on some songs. He should let other producers handle more of his stuff. Dude ain't exactly Kanye West in the studio.

He also used quite a few songs we've already seen on his mixtapes and some of his bars really should have been stepped up.

'young black and gifted I wrap like it's christmas eve' come on Jermaine.

The production on Rise and Shine is epic, can't listen to the start of that song unless the volumes up full. Lets not forget it was his first studio album, I think his production is excellent.

1. The Roots - Undun (my overall album of the year)
2. Common – The Dreamer, The Believer
3. Phonte - Charity Starts at Home
4 Kendrick Lamar – Section 80
5 Talib Kweli- Gutter Rainbows

(the Childish Gambino one is a bit hit and miss, but not bad)

In no order the albums I liked

Ambition - Wale
Section 80 (Prob number 1)
RED (under rated massively as I hardly see it spoken about)
Camp
Sideline Story
I'm Gay
The Dreamer The Believer
Young, Gifted and Black (It's a mixtape but Black Cobain is dope)

Wretch 32 - Black and White
DVS - 1 in a Billion

Give Me My Flowers While I Can Smell Them

Downloaded this the other night, only had time to give half of it a proper listen but I'm loving it so far. It's about time Blu came back with something good, he should only ever work with Exile.

I'll have a think about my favourite albums of the year, but rest assured Drake won't be anywhere near my list.

Am I the only one who thinks Take Care is the most boring, bland, dull rap album ever?

Only album on the list which I think should be anywhere near that list is Watch The Throne, even that wasn't top 3 material tbh

Drake is shit, so I agree on the first point.

'Charity Starts At Home' and 'Undun' were both brilliant though.

Had some decent tracks on there though, I like Lord Knows, Underground Kings, Crew Love and Take Care. Everything else got deleted

CunninLynguists - Oneirology

Who cares about the rest? Though Section.80 and Goblin would probably round up a top 3 -_-
