I reckon it's be Colts vs Panthers and Manning will cream the Panthers as he is doing to all like a man possessed.

I can only hope so. I have nothing against the Patriots, but I don't want them to win the SB again. I'd like to see Indianapolis win it as that town has nothing else going for it (and don't even talk about the boring and shit NBA). I hate the Eagles and the Panthers would be the most boring team to ever win the SB.

I'm leaning toward NE over the Colts. Eagle game is too close to call. How the hell does Favre throw the ball up for grabs on first down in OT?

Favre would not have been in that position if one of three things happened (in sequence).
1) Sherman doesn't go chicken shit on 4th and about half a yard and goes for it (like he did versus Seattle). Surely Ahman or Favre can get that half yard. The Philly run defense hadn't stopped GB all day.
2) The defense does not allow a completion and first down on 4th and 26 with like 1 minute remaining (DB coach should be fired for this meltdown). Still curious how the spot went unreviewed by the booth. It was clearly an extra 3 yards added (I think Mitchell had the first down, but the spot was right on the marker, could have gone either way).
3) The RB goes the correct way when Favre goes to hand off the ball in OT. Instead, Favre heaves the ball in the air on the blitz (should have taken a sack).

That was a fecking fantastic game! And Favre was superb before then.
I'm supporting the Eagles from now on, cos it was so unlikely.

Considering the fact that Eagles fans are the most vile, ruthless, turncoat fans in all of sports. The same fans that pelted Jimmy Johnson with snowballs packed with AA batteries. The same fans the routinely booed Mike Schmidt. The same fans that cheared/booed Micheal Irvin as he was being carted off the field with a severe neck injury. The same fans that booed Santa Claus. The same fans that ran Eric Lindros out of town (and he had given his all to the Flyers). The same fans that have been notoriously noted to attack fans of opposing teams inside the stadium (if you wear the opponents attire, you will be subjected to various forms of abuse from verbal to physical). No wonder the old Veterans Stadium was the only stadium in American sports that had a full time judge on call during sporting events.

These fans never deserve a championship in any sport. feck 'em.

That was unbelievable wasn't it?

Who do they think they are - Leeds fans?

Always hated the Eagles- always will. McNabb is hard to dislike, but he will not win a SuperBowl with this team.

I don't know much about the game but went to watch this one in the Sports Cafe in Piccadilly with a fellow Limey who loves the Eagles, so I supported them. kin hilarious the way you lot support your teams, we had each side of the bar (rammed with yanks) taunting each other, but not like football fans, much more friendly, and they all kept shouting 'Yeah baby!' like Austin Powers and 'Go Pakers, go Packers' like on Jerry Springer, and when there was an incomplete pass they'd mark it like the referee (umpire ?) does and shout 'No-thing! Nada! You got no-thing!' in this singsong way.

And if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle. It was still a horrible pass. He had a first down on his own 32 and he heaves the ball like a rookie. That might have been the dumbest play in the playoffs since Leon Lett.

That was an uncharacteristic Farvre throw. Just let it hang there, not even close to the side lines to enable the WR to make a defensive play if soemthing goes wrong. And that WR was nowhere near the ball, so it could have been very well a misscomunication. But again, I have never seen that type of throw right in the middle of the field. The ball had interception written all over it.

The panters can not be the most boring winers of a superbowl, the patriots took that title against rams two (or was it three) years ago. And to think that Sains let Jake go for that joker Brooks is just painful and typical Saints bussines.

I am thinking Colts Panters, with Manning taking the Lombardi trophy. They are excpetionaly well on offence, but are also extremly good on defense. Funny how Tampa fired Dungy to get Gruden and ends up in the superbowl, while also Dungy may end there a year later with the Colts.

IMO Dungy prepared both teams for the superbowl.

If your aunt had balls, she and your uncle would be poofs,

BTW, Lett's dumb play didn't lose a game. The dumbest play call prior to this was Martz not running Faulk two years ago when NE was playing tight defense. Faulk was they key to those Rams offenses, not Warner or the receivers.

Maybe it was Denver not touching Harrison to down him last week when he got up and ran for a TD. Anyway, Favre's been a great QB and it's a shame that it had to happen, especially with his father just passing on and all.

carolinas win in ot was awesome.

and first watching denver get destroyed, then favre throw that pass was simply beutiful for a vikings fan

I think eagle fans have a right to be ruthless after they paying the outragously high ticket price. I first moved to US in 1989 in Philly. The ticket price for a cheap seat for eagles game was already $45. I can't imagine what it is like now. It's not just high for gridiron but everything else. Besides, people with that kind of money to throw away are probably A-holes anyway.

Surely not as beautiful to a Packer fan watching McCown's last second TD pass in week 17. ;)

I could care less for either team. My Cowboys did quite well and the future is bright (gotta get a real QB and RB, a pass rush DE, and another cover CB). I expected them to lose at Carolina, so don't even bother bashing them. If you do, I'll simply remind you that we have 5 and you have 0.

Philly fans have a long-time reputation of being brutal. Once they had a guy called Kite Man walk a tightrope across Veteran's Stadium. Somebody said that if he ever fell, they'd boo him all the way to the ground.

Ticket prices are high for most professional sporting events. Today, Jet tickets go for $55 per game and everybody pays the same price. But the cost for a season isn't too bad because they only play 8 home games (+ 2 exhibitions). Considering the exchange rate, it's probably not so different in cost than a football match at OT. Basketball and hockey are expensive, but baseball can be fairly reasonable depending on where you sit. Concerts and shows are usually are much more. It's all entertainment and if you don't think it's worth it you should stay home. If you are implying that successful people are "A-holes," some are and some aren't. It's just as easy to say that those who call them A-holes are probably A-holes.

shocking!!!

united fans have never done such things......

feckin' Philly fans...booing Ruben before he started singing the national anthem.

Come on Carolina. These fecking ingrates don't deserve their team to play for a Super Bowl. Do it for your country, Carolina. I hate gloating Philly fans and always so good when they talk shit about Dallas but Philly haven't won a football championship in nearly 45 years.

Congrats to New England. Is Tom Brady the new Montana or Aikman? The guy that doesn't lose in the postseason. Aikman won his first 7 post-season starts. Brady is 5-0. Montana started 4-0.

New England vs. Carolina - will pick NE, but root for Carolina.

New England vs. Philly - kick their asses NE. feck Philly.

I think the Super Bowl will have fairly even odds this year. New England won't have the luxury of hiding behind their ice and snow. Carolina are just impressive. I hope they win it.

I'll take the Panthers all the way being an NC residing, gloryhunting, JCL fan :D

Plus it will mean we have lots of good parties with drunk women pretending to like football!!!

I'll take Carolina too and probably make a few off-shore wagers on them.

BTW, who notices women around while the Super Bowl is on? The only reason we have em is for after party entertainment and to fetch beer and pizza slices during the game. :D

andy reid´s eagles are on a pretty good way to becoming schottenheimer´s chiefs or green´s vikings of the new decade as far as playoff choking is concerned

I think one of the biggest differences between supporters of Yank sports and supporters of football (soccer, that is) is the chanting/singing. The most clever thing I've heard from a yank sport is 'go [team] go' or 'Let's go [team], let's go'.

Plus they've got those ridiculous plastic inflatable tubes that they bang together to create an irratating high-pitched noise.

True. I am sad to say that most American fans are not boisterous during games. They only say something when the announcer or jumbo tron says so. You hear the occassional bang on the drum or the section of 7 drunk guys singing some song or chant (usually with nothing to do with either team). And to think of all these domes and arenas and how rocking they would be if the crowd sang and chanted. Would be very inspiring to the home team. As an American athlete, I'd be pumped up hearing the homes fans singing my name like "Ooh ahh Can-tona." Sadly, most of my fellow comrades are quite lazy.

I hate those damn tubes...and those fecking clickers you hold in your hand.

Carolina vs New England. Should be quite a bore. Might have to not bother staying up until 4am this year.

those tubes are from asia - fans there use many different things to create sound. and as far as yanks being quite in the stands you must watch shite teams supported by shite fans. go to a red sox/yankees game or a packers/bears game or a duke/n. car game and you'll be "def" by the end of the game. and i was in the north stand for united vs fulham - a pin dropped i heard it! so you must see and hear what you want.

Take them and sell them - they are worth a fortune.

you'll make a mint - the game itself sucks if you're a neutral - the event is great , the parties and such then they ruin it by playing the game.
