The SuperBowl Thread...

I can't stand the Patriots (the only reason they are winning is because of 9/11 ;) )

It was a great game yesterday, the Steelers took a real beating. Hopefully the Eagles will suffer the same fate (I really don't like Philly).

back when Kordell Stewart was the Steelers QB you could bet that he'd throw 3 picks in playoff game. Then "Big Ben" did the same thing yesterday. I don't particularly like the Pats but you have to admire them. They took the crowd out of early too. ah well, maybe next year for the Steelers.

I hope so, I can't stand the Eagles :).

Seconded...and hopefully TO will be healthy and maybe Harrison will knock him unconscious for the world to enjoy.

I can't envision Philly staying within 14 points of NE. Philly's only hope is that Brady gets knocked out or that it rains non-stop for 4 hours during the game. Philly might have been the 4th best team in the AFC, but being in the weak NFC this season, they are the top team in the NFC. Reminds me of the AFC from the mid 80s to mid 90s when the best AFC team was usually no better than the 3rd seeded NFC team and often was blown out in the Super Bowl. I can envision a NE rout in this game. 41-17 perhaps.

That would be lovely. I also wouldn't mind seeing someone just bust McNabb up. He is such a twat, though Freddie Mitchell is becoming increasingly annoying as well.

Never liked the Patriots, either as Boston or New England, but (as an NY Giants fan) I really can't stand the Eagles: so I hope Brady and the boys beat 'em by around 3 thouchdowns.

I don't want NE equalling Dallas' record of 3 SBs in 4 years and maybe going for 4-in-5 next season, but I hate Philly and their obnoxious fans. So I perceive NE winning to be the lesser of two evils.

Marcello--there are two things Giant and Cowboy fans agree on--the scum sucking filth in Philly and DC should never win.

Ha ha...

I know it's written in English but it makes as much sense as the drunken Scandinavian threads we sometimes have to put up with.
It's about American-style football, or gridiron as I've heard it called. The Superbowl or championship game (or cup final) is being played Sunday 6-Feb-05. The two (2) participants are the Philidelphia Eagles (booooo) of the National Football Conference (NFC) vs the New England Patriots (yeahhhhh) of the American Football Conference (AFC).

That help May?

6th Feb eh?

That rings an important bell for some reason.

And no Mr Canuck that makes no sense whatsoever.

You must be French Canadian then.

Why oh why can't everyone just speak English?

There'd be less wars for a start.

Don't you mean there would be FEWER wars?

Go Pats! (Since I'm a long-suffering Redskins fan, there's no way in hell I can even root for the Eagles.)

Marcello likes the Cowboys and I back the Giants, so we should form the temporary "I hate the f***ing Iggles" Society.

As a Giants fan myself, I refuse to deal with Redskins or Cowboys fans--even if we all have common interests ;)

Temporary works for me... but we should charge Deadskins fans a fee for this society... ;)

Excuse me, they are from Washington D.C., so the idea of getting money FROM them is rather ludicrous. The Beltway is like a roach motel for your taxes: Money checks in, it never checks out.

Only inside the beltway. All that money goes there and never makes it back out, except to Iraq.

I always lived outside the beltway when I was growing up in the DC area ... and I live in California now. But I'm still not paying any fees!

In any case, I agree with Mathias. It's very difficult to agree with Cowboys or Giants fans on anything, even if it is hoping that the Eagles are flightless next Sunday. ;)

The truth of the matter is that the Cowboys are schmucks, the Redskins are wanks and the Eagles are shitheads while the Giants, alas, are a virtuous side that just happens to be struggling of late. Such is the reality of the NFC East :).

another suffering giants fan.

the eagles and their world's shittiest fans can rot in hell. didn't think i could hate a team more, then they got t.o. (who of course, even in injury, has to make everything about him).

Philly fans are vile. They booed their own players consistently (like Mike Schmidt). They cheer injuries to opposing players (like Michael Irvin). Just despicable fans. City of Brotherly Love my ass. And they are very paranoid.

If I were to compare Eagles fans to a group of fans from the UK....I'd have to say either Liverpool fans or the Leeds fans from years back....dirty, low down, ass backwards, dumbass, losers. And they're going to lose this coming Sunday, no doubt.
