The story of the Seven - unreleased CR7, Beckham, Robson and Cantona ad?

Very hard for anyone to argue United aren’t the biggest club in the country when you see those lot together.

The story of seven wouldnt be complete without Owen, Di Maria, Depay and Sanchez. Special mention for Obertan as he was about to nick it from Owen.

You've left out one of the chief characters - Sanchez the Brave. I want to hear more about Sanchez. United wouldn't have got far without Sanchez.

So…who is next….who…….is…………next?

Robbo and Becks prove its not all about skills and excitement but it is about character and taking responsibility.

Another passionate/unhinged Frenchman (Mejbri)?
Another academy graduate (Shoretire)?
The ‘next’ Ronaldo (Garnacho/Antony)?

Im not sure we have seen him yet…

It’s been a while since we had someone good enough to continue its legacy. It’s a burden to wear it nowadays. Not a dig at Ronaldo either. He lived up to it in his first spell. The last to do so.

I'd love to see Garnacho kick on this year and have 7 on his back next year. He certainly seems to have that bit of flair and this bit of confidence to be a 7.

I think Garnacho will be given it. Found it interesting to see Shoretire in the ad. I know that he was there as a symbol of the new generation/new number 7. Just interesting.

Surprised Cavani wasn’t asked to appear in the ad - doing his trademark archers pose celebration…with a number 7 shirt draped over the treatment table he lies on seductively.

I'll be the first to admit I don't really watch the women's game outside of the major matches, but I was happy to see Toone get some air time in this video.

A fan of the club, a youth player who only left because we didn't have a women's team, first through the door once we did have one, scorer of the winning goal of Euro '22(!) and clearly knows what the number 7 means.

Here's hoping we get a few more great women in that shirt over the years so it can continue to amplify the legacy.

Yep quite the story in her own right! glad the club have given her some spotlight

Well said

I want this club to be good again so bad, man. It hurts

Beckham said Best was humble - is that the case? All the quotes/stories I've seen suggest he wasn't exactly humble

We've had some amazing 7's in the past. Lately its been just crap, the reputation is slowly being tarnished

Haven’t watched it but he probably meant later in life. Becks wouldn’t have met him while he was playing.

 not many will get this

Think Best played more games wearing 10 and 11 than 7 for utd

I could see it going to garnacho if he'll become as good as his reputation suggests and ties himself to a long term contract.

Did Cantona ever wear no.9 when starting a game with Bryan Robson? Thinking the 92/93 season?

Yes, its quite sad really. Steve Coppell was the player got me supporting United and the players to wear the shirt up until Ronaldo were all superb players and more importantly superb performers for the club, all very deserving of the shirt.

There have been some vert average players worn it since and also a couple of huge talents in Di Maria and Sanchez performacne wise were simply undeserving, would be good to have another iconic player in the jersey again

Time for Sancho to have the shirt and show the world what he can do.
