I wont be buying this but as i've played 1 + 2 I was wondering whats going to be different avout the new installment bar the graphics?

Thats because its not much of an improvement, it's just a polished Sims 2 with a few added features. Typical EA and their "lets release shit games that will definitely sell so we can swim in our pools of money while we laugh at our gullible consumers". Fifa 09 was good though.

It's actually really good... Thought the first two were shit after you'd drowned your sim and set him on fire a few times, but this is actually a decent game.

My missus loves the Sims 2 but it won't work on her new laptop so I'm going to get her the third

I obtained SIM2, decided to build Ramsey Street, slept with half of the women in it, then realised its actually bollocks. So bought out the Skullys place (did this a while ago) and built a dream house that towered over the rest of their shite houses. Safe to say I became a legend and had all the feckin neighbours in my house. I finally got bored and penned Susan Kennedy into my house (room with no doors) and watched her die! Then I uninstalled it.

SIMS3 is just SIMS2 with reskinned content. A few graphical enhancements and more animations...

So you lot really do love your Neighbours don't you? I live about 10 minutes drive from the place and haven't even seen a single full episode in my life. That said, I think it's better than Home and Away.

Sims 3 seems more of a gimmick than previous versions, focusing more on the actual sims; and the level of customisation you can reach makes it all too fiddly. I guess it's perfect for those teenage girls with no lives and heaps of time to burn.

By the way, I've also seen Harold in a furniture store buying a recliner as well if you'd like to know.

i liked this game, when i was about 12 years old! cant stand it now

ive played it and its not too bad, but one problem with quite a lot of people is that the all the different speed settings are the same so you cant fast foward it, hopefully EA will release a patch soon

I got this for my missus during the week. She said it's very good. I had a go at it myself yesterday. I must say it's quite good at passing the time.

It's depressing. I created myself in the game and was rejected by every girl in the neighbourhood! Even virtual women hate me.

You're probably over using the 'Get your cock out inappropriately' option. And in The Sims you probably just need to buy more expensive clothes and a home gym or something

feck it, im a hypocrite who's heard lots of praise for this, I will give EA my monies...reluctantly.

Apparently it's one of, if not THE highest selling games of all time amongst females.

I think it's just the control aspect that women love. Build a house, design it, make a home, family etc. It makes sense. My missus loves making and designing houses. I'd buy Sims 3 if I had more room on the laptop / better spec

Well ? Any good ? How does it compare to 2 ? I got 2, along with a few expansion packs but then lost interest. I did, however, download a trainer that allowed me to make clothes for my Sims. I took Jenna Jameson's boobs and put them over a bikini top design. I then made sure my girlfriend wore this bikini design. Basically meant, within the game, every time I got my girlfriend into the jacuzzi she was topless with Jenna Jameson's baps

Lovely :)

I know this is a very sad thing to do

I hated this game. Spent my time working up the career ladder and doing really well for myself, got a missus and it was all rosy. Then I had to retire before I made the top level of my job.

Shit.

And this isn't true to life because ?

Not everyone becomes a Richard Branson or Larry Ellison

You could on Sims 2 :(

I dunno, just seemed like you either had a miserable character who hated his jobs but made money, or a happy bloke who ate his own toenails for dinner.

I'm really looking forward to getting this game. What about expansion packs ? Are there many that I'd require ? I know this can get quite expensive
