45 million euros for Ronaldo are too much imo. Face it, the guy hasn't played regularly in 4 years, and despite scoring important goals in a mediocre WC, he'll never reach the heights of his first year in Spain (Barça) or Italy (Inter).

I think he is a very fragile player, and I think the WC will weigh heavily on his season just as it did on Platini in 86, Baggio in 94, Zidnae in 98, or basically any player who's been a star in a very intense WC.

Also landing Crespo, Cannavarro, Almeyda and Morfeo for decent prices were excellent business from them.

_________
AC Milan did pretty well too. Rivaldo, Tomasson, Seedorf, and finally Nesta are going to make AC an formidable adversary. Add here the improving form of Rui Costa and Sheva, and you see why.

_________
Juve also picked up some great deals. Di Vaio imo is one of the best Italian striker at the moment, and Trezeguet's injury will be not felt. Baiocco and Camoranesi are also going to add pace to the midfield.

_________
Roma, and Lazio seem fecked, especially the latter. Parma might still do okay.

Finally, in light of these transfers we certainly overpaid for Rio, and what's more, we don't seem a complete outfit yet.

Peace...

feck Milan and feck Real. We only needed one defender and we have the best in the world. We finally have the belief and it can be seen in the players and to be honest its about time that becks, giggsy and co stand up to be counted. I really believe that we'll win the league and the CL this season. I personally wouldn't have been happy to see Ronaldo playing for us and I think Fergie will strengthen upfront in the winter. Sadly we don't realize how much respect and fear other teams have for us around Europe. Our squad would probably cost one of the most but as we have inherited so many class players and have bought players on the cheap to see them become world class we feel intimidated by the big spenders. There is no need for that at all as we genuinely have a solid outfit. Remember this : Every dog has its day. We have been slaughtered in the press and ridiculed by other clubs. This will be a season to remember and all for the good. We will prove that 1999 was not a one off and that were here to stay. God Bless

A very accurate analysis, Suedesi.
I only disagree on Parma: without Canna and DiVaio they look terrible.
Of course we at Lazio are not in contention anymore, but pay attention to us, anyway: the new team looks hungry and well set on the pitch, thanks to Mancini. Ass rometta? Internal problems are already coming out, he he he...

Ronaldo's fragile knees? Yes, that's why the still have Morientes.

Man Utd: Rio seems not enough, Keane too nervous, Ruud too alone. But if Seba wakes up...
I still see the Arse better, with Liverpool at your level.

He has a point. Its frightening to say it, but with Seba's continued sloppiness and Keane's...distractions, we could be in for a frustrating season like last year. The worst thing that could possibly happen would be for Ole or Ruud to get injured, I dont think that Forlan could cope with that much pressure on his shoulders...

We needed to sign/loan a class 4th striker: Crespo, Tristan, Ronaldinho etc...

But hey well, I guess thats all done with now. My predictions for this season are:

Premier League: Manchester United
La Liga: Deportivo/Real Madrid
Serie A: Inter Milan
Bundesliga: Bayern Munich
Le Championnat: Olympique Lyonnais
Dutch League: Ajax

Champions League: Real Madrid
UEFA Cup: ??? due to unknown C.L. drop out teams.
