Apropos nothing, when The Cub's dad, The Cat, won his 3rd ring it was with the Minnesota Timberwolves. They beat the heavily favoured top seed the Lakers 4-2 in the Conference Finals, and met the East's 4-seed in the Final, who had beaten the heavily favoured East 1-seed in the 2nd Round.

A shooting disasterclass from the Timberwolves. Well, mostly Lil-Nut, but they simply can't win if he doesn't shoot much better than that.

46 from Lil-Nut! Of his 30 attempted shots, 23 of them were from beyond the arc. I guess that's one way of increasing your efficiency. It remains to be seen whether the injury to Caleb Foster will spell disaster for Minnesota's comeback hopes.

It's 3-3! Lil-Nut had a lot of points, a lot of fouls, a lot of turnovers and a lot of assists. The Cub... not as much. It no doubt helped the Timberwolves that LeBron James got into foul trouble much earlier than he should have.

Fifty two points! That matches Lil-Nut's highest points total ever, which he got in earlier in the regular season. The Cub doesn't have pretty numbers, but he was very much not on this team to provide the numbers - particularly not when Lil-Nut went off.


Congratulations to The Cub and Lil-Nut for winning their first Championships! At 39 (!) and 30 years old, respectively, it must feel great to finally get there.

The Cub might feel some measure of pride that his ring came with the Minnesota Timberwolves, the very team his father won his 3rd ring with, 26 years ago. The Cub has been the better player than The Cat in every way that matters - except championships.

For Lil-Nut it'll be the first championship in the family, despite his father's Hall of Fame career.

Daughter has been a disappointment.
 
It so sad to look at myself declining, and realizing I'm still younger in the game than in real life...

Still, on the best team in the world, even though we didn't win last year. Hoping that MJ and Kareem can help me get 2 more rings, that is the main goal now. 1 ring on each finger!

Don't know if getting AI was the best choice. In real life he was a pure offensive player with no defence, considering what we have might've been better to have a good defender. At the same time, another ball handler can never be bad

I'll be honest I've mentally checked out of this now but I appreciate the consistent updates @nimic you madman and it's been a great experiment. Feel free to retire my son if needed.

I'm also mentally checked out, but I can't just end it here when you're all so old - and also in the game.
 
Have we got some injuries or something? Games a lot tighter than I was hoping / expecting
