Gaming The RedCafe NBA Simulation 32/33 | Mid Season Update | Everyone is getting old, but some people are even older | BasketballGM

Is this a way to game myself into staying an extra year? Is there a way to manually override retirement? If I'm 50+ rating I'd rather keep playing.

Small teaser for the All Star Game.

The teams are Team Kevin and Team Pepper Bailly.

The prospective draftees are as follows:

That’s my girl!

Part of the slam dunk contest, all star what is going on? Seens like i just needed 2 rings in 3 finals and becoming the 3rd highest overall to get som recognition

You've got one more year on it (after this).

Only @Dan II! He shot (FG/3P/FT) 54%/48%/94% in 2017 (on low minutes played)

If we round up, then also weeweetee in 2018, since he shot 49.9%/43%/91%.

Lil' V.O. has 5 out of the top 6 field goal shooting seasons, if you include the current one. But he doesn't really shoot threes.
Interesting, I would've thought we'd have multiple players reached 50-40-90 with how high the abilities our players have

altodevil might have the best field goal percentage career wise though?

Aside from picking shots well from Offensive IQ (which it seems like almost everyone has tonnes of) I don't even know how my guy is quite that good at shooting. Second isn't even close.

Standings update

gpChsoQ.png

Three great players in the bottom three spots. I'd be surprised, but I am pretty sure it's happened a few times already. reelworld II, SebJr and The Cub are all most definitely getting dragged down by their teams. Skizzlet is also getting dragged down, though in his case it's partly because he's not a starter yet. Might still make the playoffs, of course.

Dan II and the 76ers are 5 games above the line, though while their "since last time" form is decent, they've gone 2-8 in their last 10. Let's see if Dan II can shoot his way out of that. Further up, Two Nil and Stobzilla II are doing fine. They should be able to climb up the table, but they have to do better than just fine if they want to beat the Wizards or the Celtics in the playoffs. The same goes for Dr. Junior and BenitoSTARR, though their form is actually pretty good.

aVWO1ma.png

Solius has already lead his Pelicans to 4 more wins than they finished last season with, so I'm not sure he'll be too bothered about the position. Particularly if he's rolling the dice on a contender picking him up if he breaks his contract at the end of the season. sontodevil is finding himself in familiar territory, around 6-9 spots. He can definitely do better, but the West is apparently very strong right now. At least try to avoid the top 2 immediately though, by finishing 6th or better.

At the top there are three teams in fantastic form. It seems like BenitwoSTARRLET and P-Nut have finally figured things out, though we've seen teams go from great form to meh form and then crash out of the playoffs anyway. Above them you have two teams with 26 wins since last time, the Rockets and the Spurs. It's hard to pick between them, except for the fact that the Spurs have proven they can do it in the playoffs. hobbers and the Warriors have cooled a bit, but they're still very likely to capture that 4-seed. Pepper Bailly and the Timberwolves would have to end with even better than their recent form to secure home court advantage in the playoffs.

Trades

Dr. Junior & BenitoSTARR (Cavaliers) - Cavs going for it!

hobbers (Warriors) - A very slightly worse player, and in exchange the Warriors get rid of some salary? But then Mario Hezonja was already on a cheaper contract? I don't know.

SebJr (Heat), hobbers (Warriors)

sontodevil (Grizzlies) - they traded for Nikola Jokic earlier, so I think this makes sense?

I guess it's just a combination of things. You don't take any other shots than close up (which you can do pretty well), and you've got height and jumping.

@nimic , seeing my boy being injured again for the all-star game made me thinking: is weetee the only hall of famer who never was an all star?

Final standings

awzvtfB.png

Pretty much what I expected, all things considered. Dr. Junior & BenitoSTARR have had a consistently good season with the Cavs, and they were just about to keep ahead of Dan II and the 76ers. Two Nil & Stobzilla II maintained their meh form, but it was still easily enough. It's still a much closer East than in years, so all of our Cafites have a chance at going far.

Skizzlet was not able to maintain the good start with the Hawks, while reelworld II was able to turn things around a little bit. It wasn't enough to get above the line in the end, but it's something. The two Cafites at the bottom will be very disappointed with the seasons their teams have had - again. SebJr improved somewhat on the Heat's form, if not their positioning, while The Cub seems to have picked very poorly when his contract expired. Might be a decent time to take his one contract break, unless the Nets draft very well.

ycZfjfk.png

11 Cafites from the West made the playoffs. The only one who didn't was Solius, who realistically never expected to anyway. The season was still far better than the last one for the Pelicans. Above the line we've got sontodevil and the Grizzlies, who seem clinically unable to avoid playing one of the juggernauts in the 1st Round. It'll take a miracle for him to beat the Spurs, or a lot of injuries. Pepper Bailly also made the playoffs with some margin, though the recent form is not promising. His Timberwolves will play the resurgent Nuggets. BenitwoSTARRLET and P-Nut are clear favourites.

And then you have the Rockets and the Spurs. Obviously. They ended on the same record, with weeweetee & Lil' V.O. capturing the top spot. The tiebreaker was that Houston won the division, though they had the same record there too (13-3). The tiebreaker for that was that they had the better record against Western Conference Teams, 47-5 against 46-6. Regardless, we've been here before, and I still think that Nobbers, Heine, Sonius & altodevil are just too strong in the playoffs not to be the favourites.

Second in conference on 74-8 is quite something… Then again, everyone knows we are just coasting in the regular season and will turn on in the playoffs

Quite a lot of injured players. Going almost solo vs Mavs

29/11/3 - Another great season, capped off by a playoff appearance, no stat decreases and another similar bump in skill ratings would be nice :). hopefully we can take advantage of Washington's injury situation.

@nimic activate sontodevil escape clause

If everyone does it at the same time, the risk is that you just all trade teams. Although maybe another team would be really good if you swapped some players around, who knows.

Maybe we can add a second caveat, which I mentioned a while ago I think. If you've spent 3 years at your team, you're allowed to break your contract (instead of the 5 years that most take). I could just set max contract length to 3 years, but that might mess up some other stuff.

Go back in time and tear up Hobbers bobcat contract, thanks.

Nice. Whatever Player efficiency rating is, I'm the best at it!

Well, time to see how the new upgrade messed with my work flow for these updates. Probably not too much, but I reserve the right to moan anyway.

Sadly the two upsets both involved Cafites losing. It probably won't matter much in the long run, though. I fully expect Houston, San Antonio, Boston and Washington to make it to the final. You'd think the winner would be from the West, but Kevin Durant seems to have entered these playoffs with a chip on his shoulder.
