Walking in a whisky wonderland.
I read in that pillar of sports journalism the Sun that there is a Sunderland insider who wants to get Keane done for intention to injure. Specifically for that elbow on McAteer.

It went something along the lines of "He clearly intended to retaliate. The FA should charge him for bringing the game into disrepute. Again."

While we're on the subject of stringing up players for retaliating on the pitch, how about getting twats like McAteer, Shearer, Ashley Cole, innumerable Scousers etc hauled up for intent to get someone sent off? Provoking someone to get a response should be a red card offence. Just because the reaction isn't physical is no reason not to condemn unsportsmanlike behaviour.

McAteer being a case in point. He was intent on winding Keano up in the hopes of provoking a response to get him sent off. Red card, surely. Send both idiots off, and we'll get less drivel like the stuff the Sun prints.

I think if the FA even consider it, it would be ridiculas because you would end with the situation where just about every straight red card would result in this kind of action. It's a band wagon thing, it'll die down.

Exactly, the books out now and itll be forgotten about until Beckham brings his out next season.

To be honest the only controversial issue in Becks' book is going to be who advised him to wear a skirt in public

A more clued up referee might of helped.

Hmmmmm. Okay then. Intent to injure.

How about Steven Gerrard's two-footed lunge at Veron at Anfield last season?

Surely that had intent to injure.

Graham Poll could be lip read and he said to Gerrard 'If you'd made contact Steven you'd be off for that.'

Perhaps the FA could revisit that one?

Or Shearer's Elbow against Charlton at the Valley last season?

There must be loads.
