When voting for the team you think would win the match, keep the following in mind from the original rules:
"When selecting a player, it is important to remember that you are only picking them on their Premiership/Premier League form, i.e. if you pick Gullit, you get his form in England only, not Italy or Holland!

Cal's XI sneaked through to the semis after some questionable refereeing decisions, whereas KM's Allstars won their quarter final with ease.
Take your pick for who will be the first finalist:

Cal? - Cal's XI .....vs..... KM - The KM Allstars

On to the knockout rounds we go....

Ronaldo is going to have so so much fun against Bridge.

Also Howard is so far off his line he'll probably be lobbed easily. ;)

Only problem I have with KM's team is that he has two very selfish players in Okocha and Robben who will slow down the play a lot.

Well Cal's team has Ronaldo and Van Persie are equally selfish.

It's all very well for Ronaldo to be selfish if he's going to score 40+ goals each season.

As for Van Persie, I thought most people think Arsenal pass too much?

Ronaldo gets frustrated when not given enough time on the ball and with people like Parlour, Keano and Tevez in my team, the chances are that Ronaldo won't get enough time.

Your defense is very weak actually, VDS is great but apart from that no-one stands out. Yorke and Tevez are as good as striking partnership, you can get.

Anyways I'm not gonna argue with you, things like these doesn't sway votes at all. In these cases, the first impression is the last impression.

You sound as if Ronaldo is easily dealt with by hardworking players, the fact is, no one deals with Ronaldo (except Barca).

I was going to say your defence is very week, Vidic is great but apart from that no one stands out. Ronaldo, Sheringham & Van Persie is a much better strike force than yours.

Also, you have very defensive fullbacks who provide no width whatsoever and Okocha who will drift towards the centre, leaving Robben as your own wide man.

Wait a minute Bridge was decent going forward with both Southampton and Chelsea in early years, if we're judging current players from last one-two years then your midfield is fecked as Essien is finished as a player.

Bridge venturing forward will only leave even more space for the best Premier League player ever, you sure that's a great idea?

Radebe and Vida are the best centerback pairing in this game right now. Your defense is amazingly weak. Babbel really worked for one season and was pretty much crap in his rest of season, so much so that he was loaned to Blackburn. Slyvinho again, was shite defensively whilst not bad going forward.

I've Parlour for that defensive midfield role. Is the idea of a defensive midfielder covering for the fullback alien to you?

Vidic is amazing, no question about that, but Van der Sar is also amazing, I'd say those balances out.

Johnsen imho is better than Howard, he held his place at United for many seasons whilst Howard was kicked out by Sir Alex.

Radebe was a regular for Leeds who challenged for the Uefa places at that time, no better than Bould who was a regular for Arsenal who finished 2nd most the time.

Babbel was an integral part of the Scousers' mickey mouse treble. Sylvinho played regularly for Arsenal who only finished just behind us in our glorious Treble in 1999.

Not at all, just the idea that Bridge, or Parlour, or Okocha if he drops back being able to deal with Ronaldo seems far-fetched.

Keano might be able to, but if you have him marking Ronaldo, you'd get over-run in midfield.

Yeah disappointing :(

Yeah disappointing :(

I voted for thee KM. Your formation takes it for me. 3 forwards who like playing central in Cal's team and will offer nothing in defence. Ronaldo may tear Bridge 1v 1 but I would think that your wingers would help doubling up.

Plus Keane and Parlour would be something.

Poor turn out here

the big draw (i.e. me) got knocked out due to some dodgy refereeing so no one cares anymore :D

anyway I have gone for KM, Cal's has a great forward line but his defence is just too weak to deal with tevez, yorke and robben - KM has a more balanced team with strength in all areas.

So Cal beat Rood? Hmmmm still dont see that one

Tell me about it

2 minutes remaining and the gap looks just big enough for KM to be safe...

Well done on the bumpage, needed it as there has been less votes in this semi than most of the quarters for some reason

and congrats to KM for making the final - Im sure Erics_Collar will be proud of the caretaker job you are doing with his team!

Oh well... :(

I honestly thought this was a banker having beaten Rood in the last round, personally I think Rood's team is better than KM's.

Anyway, I'll try to run another fantasy draft when the season kicks off. Any suggestions on the draft?

Some suggestions right now:

1. Players who have retired within 2001-2010?
2. Players who have played in 2 or more of the top 4 leagues?
3. Players who have played in 3 or more of the top 4 leagues?
4. Players who have never played in a WC?
