Pleased to see a thriller win 4 Oscars/Best film.

I'm also pleased the Coen Bros have received recognition. About time.

I'm also disappointed that "Bourne Ultimatum" didn't win one of the main Oscars but then it did win 3.

Was surprised There Will Be Blood, didnt win best picture, that said No Country For Old Men was my second favorite movie of year. I really liked how the movies were stories of America, great ones at that, none of that bullshit fluff you see today, like Live Free or Die Hard, these movies brought the action, the plot, superb acting and everything else a great movie should

TWBB was always at a disadvantage due to Paul Thomas Anderson's bitch fest a few years back over Magnolia's performance at the Oscars.

Yeah the Academy is full vindictive mother feckers, that said Daniel Day Lewis acting was one of the best performances of the past 20 years

I thought it was a bit boring, and the psycho could have been a better actor who looked the part

Bardem pretty much embodied and looked how I could have imagined him from Cormac McCarthy's book. He was actually based on a photo in a book brought in by Tommy Lee Jones which featured brothel patrons on the Texas-Mexico border during the time the film was set in.

That was painful, two guys basically begging for people to laugh at them.

or hire them. Ironically, the woman in the act who won the Best Song Oscar for Once got cut off. When Jon Stewart brought her back out she probably gave the best speech of the night.

I'm also glad the Acadamey didn't give George Clooney an Oscar just for being George Clooney. I'm interested in seeing what Will Smith does in the next 12 months too. Seriously, they are absolutely ITCHING to give this guy an Oscar.

Michael Clayton was a class act both the movie and the character played by Clooney

He had a lot of screen time and carried the weight of the film. I still thought Tom Wilksinson shone between the two when they were on screen together though.

Bad news for Clooney is, he already won an Oscar for the same role in Syrianna, and two years later he's doing the same role again. Problem is, he can't lend credit to looking fat and unattractive this time.

Wilkinson was incredible that opening monologue helped make the film and probably TW was a 9.5 and GC was 8.9. Both were great Wilksinson is mint, is he actually crazy or is just the work that makes him crazy.

Have to say his role was different in Syrianna, in Michael Clayton, it is just that he has a conscience in both that makes them similar imo, that said there are some similarities, I like Syrianna more anyway, both movies were great though

Agreed, the only other thing with MC that bothered me was the length. Not that it was long, it's just they dragged out a 30 minute storyline into a 100 minute long film. If they trimmed off all the fat it probably would have been the best short film I'd seen in years.
