Classic film.
I see there was a remake of it in 2006. Does anyone know if it's any good? On the whole, I don't think I've ever seen a re-make be better than the original.

Infact, clear this abomination from memory, before you make the mistake of watching it like I did, it's not too late for you.
Was about to buy it on Blu-ray the other day thinking it was the original, on closer inspection realized it was a remake. Presumed it would be a stinker and luckily didn't buy it.
Yeah, I have seen a trailer for the "new" version and they have tried too hard to cast a scary looking Damien.
The great thing about the original is that the kid didn't really come across as scary - but he just had an evil menace about him.

In the original, so the story goes, when Damien smiles at the end it wasn't planned. The director Richard Donner asked the child actor (whose name I have forgotten) specifically not to smile when looking directly at the camera...which of course he did. Donner saw it on the rushes that evening of filming and thought it finished the film perfectly.
But then there's lots of stories surrounding The Omen, so not sure what to believe.
