Finished watching the Christmas Special today. Gervais did an excellent job there imo, created the most cringeworthy yet funny man I think I've seen. Great show.

One of the best tv shows ever. Season 1 is brilliant.
Absolutely groundbreaking comedy. No one could play that character like he can. He is an absolute legend. Steve Merchant isnt far off either. I know this is a bold statement, but i believe its true. Extras is even better! Cringeworthy moments galore!!!

Ah now, as great as Extras is it has nothing on The Office.

Coogan's not really as funny as Gervais though. Gervais' christmas rant was amazing, but the Office just has so many class characters
I get all nostalgic when I see Gareth Keenan in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Time to break out the Office DVD's, followed by the US ones season 2 onwards
Extras is fecking terrible.
Absolutely loved the Office and the Extras - been listening to the Ricky Gervais podcast recently (with Steven Merchant) and loving that too.
You forgot to name the most important man in those podcasts...Karl Pilkington!
Oh and if you love the podcasts, you'll just LOVe the XFM shows which they've recorded in the past.....

Gervais IS an arrogant cnut, having met him 3 times in the last year, I can make that assumption.
Of course he's arrogant. The only reason that the drivel known as Extras was ever conceived was to show everyone how many celebrities Gervais could convince to send themselves up.
I dont think he's arrogant an all. But if he was could you blame him? Samuel L Jackson, Robert De Niro, Patrick Stewart, Orlando Bloom, Dame Dianna Rigg etc etc. They all knew how amazing he was which is why they all jumped at the chance to be on the show.
Never got into the office, not my cup of tea.
