When SAF finally retires, who would you like to take over...

I thought Van Gaal was going to take over in the summer, although I am not a fan of him at all, Sven would be nice, Martin O'Neill has gone very crap now, forget him, we should have got David Moyes as our Assistant Manager, he is class, but not experienced enough...

Martin O'Neill. Yes, he's going through a bad patch at the moment. It happens. He's class.

Certainly not Van Gaal are you nuts??
I would choose McLaren or even maybe Moyes from Everton before Van Gaal

Marcello Lippi. He has what it takes to run a big club like Man Utd.

Not impressed with McLaren at all.
Watching Boro against the Arse was pretty awful.
It was as boring as watching the dippers.
And they have only scored in 2 of 9 away games this season.
no thanks...

In order of preference:

1. Ottmar HItzfeld
2. Martin O'Neill
3. Sven Goran Ericksson
4. David Moyes
5. Fabio Cappello

Van Gaal- feck no
Sven- not really passionate anough, plus, is still obsessed with italy.
Martin O'neil- i think im the only man on the planet who thinks hes a pretty crappy manager really, his team is so easy to rip apart, predictable, so to speak.
Ottmar HItzfeld- who?

If it aint gunna be david may ( :D ), or mickey phelan, then.........well i dunno, Cappello wouldnt be bad, possibly TopMóller...But probably Lippi. I dont wanna tihk of life without fergie though, right now :( . I cant imagine united without alex ferguson at the helm

It won't be Van Gaal - who looks like Beaker from the Muppet Show.

My guess is that in three years time it will be a tossup between Moyes, McClaren, Quieroz, and O'Neill.

only the first choice of the board to succeed ferguson thats who. ;)

when the time comes and fergie gives his recommendation (as surely he will) then i will side with him :D his judgement i think would be the most valuable. his was hitzfeld last time around before we got a big no no and he turned his head to o'neill. i like the irishman's personality and intelligence but after seeing his sides perform i begin to wonder  its like watching rugby

Well, i personally think it will be Hitzfeld, and id be more than happy with that, you only need look at some of his sides to see that hes a top, top manager, Dortmund, Bayern for example.

And Fergie said he sees "qualities in hitzfeld similar to my own.."

That speaks volumes really..

Current form is irrelevant ( we won nothing last season), so my first choice would be O'Neill. But I'd agree that McClaren is showing some potential but still has a way to go. For me it's too early for the likes of Moyes & Hughes but there's defo something there.
I was intrigued by Eriksson in the early days but his promise has wained. As for foreign managers, there's nobody out there at the moment that looks capable of handling the team, the prem, the public and the press.

I'd like to see a british coach with a passion for the clud, maybe McClaren.A coach with potential that has coached lesser cluds, sort of like how Fergie made it. I realy don't want to see Van Gal i think his crap, same with Sven and the roma coach.

Martin O'Neill is certainly motivated, and organizes his teams well, but is too abrasive IMO. Same with VanHaal.

Bobby Robson is more the kind we need, that can come in with a minimum of fuss(personality conflicts) and do the job.

David Moyes could almost be a Fergie clone, he just needs more experience- european football, a higher level of players to work with, and a bigger budjet.

I don't LIKE Van Gaal, I just said that I thought he was high on Kenyon's list last Christmas, and I was VERY disappointed.

I would love to see Cantona take over,

Capello is pretty good,
O'Neill?? Ummm, I'm not sure...
McClaren is too sterotype, look at Boro now
Moyes needs more experience...
Hitzfeld, Hell No, German???
Lippi would be pretty good too...
Hey, what about Querioz?

So you'd want Eric to take over despite never having managed anything more taxing than a walk-on role in Elizabeth, and you'd reject the best coach in Europe - Hitzfield - because he's German?!

Barmy.

What has Hitzfield being German got to do with anything?

I thought Bayern and Ommar were our rivals??
It's like Arsene taking over us...
Or SAF taking over Arsenal, u know it seems kinda odd, and probably won't happen...
Ommar is a bit cold and boring as a Manager...
