Isotope Tactics

Lots of chemistry on this team:
- Robben - Ribery
- Veron - Almeyda
- Cannavaro - Veron

With Robben and Ribery running wild, EAP’s fullbacks won’t get a chance to push forward. Robben’s speed and tricks, combined with Zambrotta on that flank, will cause endless headaches for the left side of the opponent’s defense.

In the middle, Verón’s pinpoint passes—short or long—will feed Robben’s bursts forward, or feeding this guy:

Meanwhile, Vidal brings a perfect mix of grit and creativity, keeping the team connected from back to front. Cannavaro and Marquinho, rock-solid at the back, are more than ready to shut down any attack that comes their way.

EAP Tactics

Formation: 4-2-2-2

Team built on dynamic partnerships both real life and those very similar to it. All players have played and thrived in similar formation and tactics in real life and has great synergy between themselves to bring out the best of their own game.

Evra-Vidic-Rio are the core of the best defensive line ever seen in EPL. Zabaleta slots in nicely as replacement for Neville/Brown providing defensive solidity, up-and-down workrate and overlapping width. The peak version of De Gea is quite close the VDS/Big Pete despite not having as solid of a defensive line as his popular predecessors. Overall, one of the best defensive lines in this draft.

Casemiro needs no intro and he brings lot of physicality and ball winning ability. He's no thug or a mug on the ball, capable of intelligent recycling and distribution of the ball plus couple of good late runs to outside the box goal threat. Baraja is a complete Centre Midfielder able to contribute to both ends. A proper all rounder, he can tackle as well as he can pass and score. Between these two, we have a great shield and a base for the others to operate upon.

Silva and Fernandes are both comfortable center and out wide. They are free role players who will exploit the space between the lines and overload specific areas of the pitch when we have the ball. Lots of creativity, top notch workrate, an eye for the killer pass and could score themselves.

Rooney plays his favourite #9.5 role and acts as the fulcrum bringing the attack together. Aguero' leads the line and his partnership with Rooney is similar to when he played with Tevez (who's also on the bench raring to get on the pitch). Linked well with Silva and we can expect more of the same with Bruno too.

Overall a team which has defensive solidity, lots of workrate, loads of creativity and variety of goal scoring threats that would make any defence struggle.

@Isotope Looks like a great midfield platform for Veron here. Just wondering whether you want someone a little more attacking at LB.

Interesting 4222 from EAP. Currently on the fence

Aye, Veron looks great in that midfield, which is quite a rarity in drafts. Not much to criticise on either side, but going for Iso as I'm unconvinced that Bruno is a good fit in that position with Rooney also looking to get on the ball in similar areas.

I don't think we'd have that problem with either Rooney or Bruno. Both are flexible and willing to play around others. Rooney has been shuttled all over the midfield and frontline during his time here and he has a free role here too. There's ample space for both of them the play together.

The focus is to dominate possession and attack between the lines. The flexible line up will ensure we overload key areas when having the ball. Bruno will look for space edge of the box behind Veron while we have Baraja, Rooney, Aguero (and a lapping Zabaleta) around him to get the pass. It will force more 1v1 matchups and when Baraja does move up, we will have a man advantage temporarily to score.

It's a reverse Evra - Brown combo that won us a CL.

Ideally I have Krol there, but Abidal is a pretty good balanced FB for this Draft.

It seems like you're just throwing attacking midfielders there, Edgar. But then, you're not playing tiki-taka. Not to mention your sole wide provider are fullbacks that are facing two of the most lethal wingers/forwards on this Draft.

That is not correct. Both Silva and Bruno provide a lot out wide. They are placed there to attack the channels between your fullbacks and DMs giving them a straight run at the CBs.

@Edgar Allan Pillow Do both full-backs bomb on at once or just one at a time?

Mostly one at a time. The system has more bodies in midfield to cycle the ball back and initiate attack from other flank if necessary. Almeyda just has too much on his hands to counter my midfielders. For example, if Bruno has the ball, Vidal still needs to watch for Silva moving in, so there's not much support for Almeyda available.

GG @Edgar Allan Pillow . Feels like yours is one good winger away from taking this to the wire.

Giggs or Beckham would've probably won you the game.
