My sister wants us to come along to some live version of this for her birthday (main reason being that she's not allowed to go otherwise (hehehe)).

How rubbish is this likely to be?

I've seen a couple of episodes on tv. Couldn't really decide whether I hated it or not. On the one hand, it wasn't very funny, but on the other hand, it has other stuff going for it, such as a guy dressed in a gorilla suit.

What's the verdict?

I love the t.v show, but I watched some of the live show on dvd and I'm not sure it worked to be honest. Although it was the introduction bit, so maybe the rest picked up on laughs.

Also, I was going to get tickets this year, but they went like hotcakes and are now proper pricey.

I need reasons though, to fuel my potential dislike to a point of it outweighing the potential difficulty of telling my sister she can't go.

Will the annoying hippy haired guy feature heavily?
Does gorilla suit man do anything apart from be a gorilla suit man?
What's going on?

I love it. Pure, original comedy.

The only way to find out is to watch the DVDs and see what you think.

Comedy is too subjective just to go off other peoples opinions.

How about the fact that it just ain't funny?

No, it's more of a shit than what appeared in my bog the morning after the night I ate three vindaloos!

Steaming liquid shit, lots of!

i love the mighty boosh but im not going to disagree. Parts of it are rather rubbish, it's less of a tv show, more a bunch wierdos doing irelavent sketches with some often silly but occasionally genius songs thown in. Episode plots usually appear to just consist of ideas Noel and Julian came up with while high but the show is fun, inventive and at times has a clever sense of humour. It could easily be something a group of media students did while bored and whacked jn youtube so all their ''cool'' friends can leave them constructive comments like ''lolz grate show i love the cool guys hair keep it up xxx''. Doesn't mean you can't enjoy it, i'd rather watch it than anything else pretty much, the way some episodes move from one bizaare situation to the next while keeping a fast pace and a plot is pure joy. It is anatuerish and full pompous references about camden and pop culture which is all most people see in it. TO me it's a purely subjective programme, you'll either enjoy it as the little novelty it is or you.ll hate it for being rubbish and stupid.

I've not seen any of the recent ones. I just remember the one when BBC3 was just launched - a bloke in a gorilla suite, somehow the gorilla was going to die because it was old, but for some reason the took that cnut with the big cheesy grin on some taxi ride with a grim reaper to a bar (full of more grim reaper taxi drivers playing pool) on a distant planet, then realised that they got the wrong one, or some shit like that.

Not funny, and rather insane.

I just watched the last episode of season 2. The one where they're stuck on the desert island and start dating coconut people.

Somewhat humorous, but I felt as if I wasted half an hour of my life at the end because it was so fecking stupid.

I love it :D

Just watched all three series (my girlfriend is obsessed with it, so I thought I better see what it's all about).

T'was funny. Very, very weird. But funny.

Maybe it's because I'm a strange, student type, though, and that's exactly the sort of humour it is.
