Doherty's old band. What's your view on them?

Just started listening to them again, it's a shame they only made two albums. Both great albums though.

They were brilliant. However thay have paved the way for the load of shite Indie bands you see now. e.g, Pidgeon Detectives.

Didn't realise that people held them in such high esteem. Thought that because of his antics people would be put off.

What's his relationship with Barat? Would there ever be any chance of a reunion?

Best Indie band for ages and Petes lyrics are brilliant.
Pete and Carl both wrote brilliant lyrics and IMO worked far better as a songwriting team than alone

The Libertines are one of my favourite bands ever and changed music along with the strokes at a time when shite like feeder and Limp Bizkit was the best rock had to offer. They also gave away tons of material online and had loads of secret shows for fans who could make it on short notice. Sadly the arguments that ended the band are unlikely to be resolved easily until Pete truly cleans up and so I can only hope for a reunion. Although Carl played with Pete at one of his solo gigs last year so there is a bit of hope

I saw them live in Montreal. Didn't know anything about them at the time, but just tagged along with some friends and they were brilliant.

Originally Carl was very ***-enchanted with Pete for his drug antics etc.
But recently they're friends again, and have reunioned once already. In an acoustic gig at Hackney Empire. It was kept a secret, as it was listed as a Babyshambles gig.

best band since the roses... and amazing live

Behave.

I saw them live, as Pete started his downward spiral, and he was a mess. having not heard the albums, I wasn't too perturbed by the dismal drawling performance, then I listened to it when I got in for comparison and realised the album was actually that bad.

Babyshambles are a world above the Libertines ever could be.

. Sorry mate, i imagine your on your own there.

Good comeback :p.

Although to be fair, I have it in for Dickerty, we had booked to (well I got them free working for a magazine at the time) see them and he cancelled at the last minute, high off his face leaving some friends of mine very dissapointed. He then went to do it again at Reading (although he twatted Jonny Borrell so he gets a + mark)

, yep i've had the full Doherty experience aswell.

They are perhaps the Sex Pistols of our generation, trouble intrieging(sp) and at times genius.

Theres fewer more distressing sights

than that of an English man in a baseball cap

and we will die in the class that were born

well thats a class of our own my love

a CLASS OF OUR OWN MY LOVE
