The "last post" column

I'm talking about the column on the main forum page showing which thread was last posted in, for that particular sub forum.

Most of the time when I click it and it is a big thread (like a matchday thread), I never get taken to the last post. Its always takes me to around 7-8 pages into the thread. How exactly does that work? I always assumed its main purpose was to take the user to the latest post?

next to the name of the last poster.

I made the same mistake as you for years, just clicking the title, which just lands you somewhere random in the thread, probably because of some cookie problems, which are intended to figure out where you last were in the thread.

These days I never click the title of the thread, only that small pink button with the arrow.

I've only just found this button

Loaded up a subforum the other day, and thankfully redcafe was superslow, must have been people asking for line-ups, and the buttons didn't load instantly...and it came up with the message when you hover, and that's how I found that button

Next week, I'll tell you all about how I worked out how to post youtube videos :P
