For what its worth, I've been using this site for about a year now ROTTEN TOMATOES: Movies - New Movie Reviews and Previews! I have avoided every shit movie that I might have ordinarily got sucked into ever since, I even use it to rent movies now.

Basically anything
65 - 75% is watchable to decent
76 - 85% is good to very good
85% + is your excellent/superb range

Airbender gets 8%, thats about the lowest rating I've seen. Test it out, pick any classic or any shit film type it in and see what its average % is, its been incredibly consistent for me and have saved me from spending money on dogs like this

Yea I saw the rating on RT before I went to watch it, which I did because I'm a big fan of the series. I didn't think it was possible to butcher a movie this badly, now I know what an 8% rating means :nervous:
 
Why anyone would let Shyamalan direct and write a movie these days is beyond me, especially a big-budget summer action-adventure movie, which is pretty far from his comfort zone.
 
Can't be worse than the Happening which surely was one of the worst films of all time

I think its a case of "Hes lost his way but i bet his next movie is brilliant".
 
:lol: i've often wondered that myself. But Unbreakable and Signs werent that bad, i wasnt really a fan of either but they were good movies
 
Yeh, he actually just got steadily worse. Sixth Sense was great, Signs and Unbreakable were pretty good to average, and the stuff that's followed has been absolutely shite.
 
How bad is this? I'll be down at the theatres this weekend and I'm trying to decide between this, Knight and Day and the A-team. Might even watch 2 out of three.

Woah, woah, woah. I'm not sure good and the A-Team are two things we should put in the same sentence. It's better than the Last Airbender. I haven't seen the Last Airbender but my friends have said that it is amazingly bad--coming from guys who've seen Dragonball Evolution and Street Fighter: Legend of Chun'li, that's pretty damning. A-Team isn't good, but it's entertaining for it's complete ridiculousness.

Since you didn't watch it, I don't think you can really talk about it. Everybody has different tastes. Just because your friends did not like it, does not mean you wouldn't like it. Maybe you might like it. I m not saying it was great. It was definitely good.

I meant I didn't see the Last Airbender. I did see the A-Team. It's entertaining, but I'd never say it's good. It doesn't make very much sense...

Yeah A-Team was decent, it was action packed so it didnt lie about that, but it really wasnt that smart, which would have made it a lot better. Liam Neelson and Bradely Cooper should have been in it more, and BA should have had less of a story.

Saw this yesterday. Honestly THE worst film I've ever seen. Paid £11 for the fecking ticket and 3D glasses as well. Dire from start to finish. Acting is awful, script is awful, everything is awful.
 
A dreadful movie, I didn't even go past the hour mark.I had to stop as it was so cringeworthy.I have to really re-adjust my criteria for watching movies.Cartoon or manga adaptation are a no-no
 
Sixth Sense was good, I also really liked Signs (despite Mel Gibson and the whole god bothering element). Unbreakable was a bit boring apart from the last ten minutes.

I'm not going to watch The Last Bender. It looks like a film for five year olds. Like a shitter version of that Dragonball movie which I never watched
 
Signs annoys me, because it has possibly the stupidest aliens in film history. Their weakness is water...so they head to a planet mostly covered in it, and where it falls from the sky. Morons.
 
The War of The Worlds remake aliens beat them hands down.

I mean, trying to invade a planet covered two thirds in water, when water harms you, is pretty stupid. As is being a great "problem solver", yet being unable to figure out how doors work.

But, that's nothing compared to burying machines in the ground, before humans exist, so you can come back thousands of years later and use them to eliminate the humans. There are added stupidity points if it turns out you can't even use the machines without dying of illness. Even Americans know how to wear spacesuits

Alright I definitely won't be seeing it now... Surely this is a movie-only kind of movie, it would be wasted on DVD, but if it's this shit I won't bother. Besides the Expendables came out today so that clearly takes precedence over anything else and life.

They butchered a classic. The original movie/story is a bazillion times better, even with the corny graphics and noises... What an amazing movie and concept!

I heard that the real original was a radio-play, and when they broadcast-ed the story people actually believed the world was being taken over.
