From 1982 - 1997 there were loads of big club tunes rockin' the Haci.

Curious about this place.. it's so well known that I can't understand what happened for it to close down? Surely wasn't a lack of popularity? I hear it being mentioned constantly even to this day.

Watch 24 hour party people.

A combination of bad management (owner Tony Wilson was notoriously lax about little things like money) and a failure to control the gangs running the door killed the place. I only went towards the end (1994 - 1997) but it had an atmosphere. Would've loved to have gone during its heyday, sounded like the most exciting club in the world for a time, and played a massive part in Manchester's re-invention as a young-minded, dynamic city.

I would have loved to have gone in its heyday, and Shelleys in Stoke. I love all the music that came out of that scene.

Has anyone gone to the hacienda classicals with the orchestra?

I went to the one in castlefield bowl last year and it was really good!

Too young for hacienda, spent my youth in Sankeys though 2007-2011. Good times.
