Following the defeat against Fulham Amorim has confirmed that the goal is to win the Premier League again at Manchester United.

While I completely understand that it is impossible for him to know how long it will take, shouldn't he be giving himself a target to aim for? Klopp did at Liverpool and the side he took over was even worse than ours.

Thoughts?

He can't get the best out of the players currently at his disposal so I don't ever see us winning the premier league with this manager. He'd rather be sacked than change his current beloved formation I reckon. He needs to adapt or won't be long till he's shown the door.

The side Klopp took over was in no way shape or form worse than ours. Pretty sure they had Suarez and Firmino at that point.

I mean, he is giving himself a target-winning the league. How long it takes is effectively out of his hands as it will take great recruitment which isn't his job. So he isn't giving a timeline.

With him in charge, it'll take a very long time, if at all.

No chance, not with this system. If Amorim can reinvent himself then perhaps it's possible given he seems adept at noticing what the issues are but at the same time still isn't able to fix them.

I personally don't have an issue with three at the back but his ideology of it is no good. The defence can't successfully move the ball into the midfield and even then it's a isolated double pivot having to play Hollywood passess into the forward players. When you also consider that Sporting played one of the highest lines defensively (something Ruben will likely want to implement) it will further compound the issue given the lack of athletic defenders at the club.

It feels like no matter who United come up against somehow the team is being outdone tactically, in some area of the field there's a deficiency. Consistency is what it takes to win the league and even with newer signings wingbacks and tens won't decide game you still need a strong midfield which is fundamentally the spine of a team.

He can’t even play a different formation yet he’s talking about winning the PL…

Ultimately, I don’t know whom we could hire to get us to win the league though. It seems like we’d have to hire Gandalf the Grey for that to happen.

I think your current team is worse than the Liverpool Klopp inherited

I do think that you are starting to look a little more cohesive, however - it's just that your current personnel are nowhere good or mentally strong enough. You desperately need stronger characters and a better spine, as Scholes remarked. A reliable goalkeeper, at least one dynamic midfielder with a good passing range (but ideally two) and a mobile, intelligent striker. Centre-back possibly too, but there's bigger areas of concern for now.

Why talk about your desire for a rhinoplasty while you're having a stroke.

Klopps first team was awful.

Mignolet
Clyne
Sakho
Skrtel
Moreno
Lucas (one of the worst footballers iv ever seen)
Lallana
Can
Milner
Coutinho
Origi

And remember he binned Sakho for awful attitude when he was expected to be a beast of a player.

A lot of similarities in many ways to what Klopp inherited.

Only difference was the players as well as fans bought in to what he was selling immediately.

I don't think he should be the one setting that target. It needs to come from above.

He shouldn’t have said that. He should have said this club needs European football next season to bring in much needed revenue to enable investment to strengthen the squad. By being knocked out of the FA Cup now makes the Europa League a must win

No it wasn't.
