but for someone to score a hat trick and only play 2/3 of the game is a little bit special to me
scholes has been easily our best player as yet this season imo....
Scholes put in one of the most commanding performance I have seen, dominating a good opposition midfield.
He was everywhere and his vision and passing fantastic, and he scored a goal.

It is special.
But the midfield created the chances today. They were superb as a unit.
Isn't it great to be arguing about who was our best player instead of who was our worst?
Scholes gets my vote - was a dominant performance - but the whole team played well and we can look forward to the scouse with a real chance of getting back into the race.

to be honest i thought that blanc played brilliantly. shearer never had a chance. he only scored from a free kick.

Blanc went off seem more likely got to do with it. mlclauhk was right, Shearer was well marked by Blanc and it was after Blanc gone, Shearer keep winning those headers..
Do fellow posters agree that today Scholes was our main man in midfield- no Keano, Veron or Butt and maybe he felt he had more reponsability and therfore raised his game.
Scholes has really stepped up at a time of need, he was the captain today- big performance.
There were so many good performances- Ruud, Ole, Silvestre defended very well, and Brown too.

Scholes was undeniably good in the match, but my MOM went to unsung hero Silvestre!
